An excellent worker watch - recommended!
Used as a Day watch so I won’t damage my ‘posh’ watch.A really good looking field style watch - as you can see quite a large watch at 43mm (not including crown). Unlike the ‘usual’ Seiko 5 the crown is at 3oclock position .Although I only have a slim wrist (6.75 inches) it doesn’t hang over the edge so to speak. The lumes are bright and last all night. See photo to see the lume is on the hour markers the hands (although only a tiny dot on the second hand)I replaced the strap for a NATO strap mainly for security as the look seems better.I recommend this as a good ‘working watch’ - accurate to -0.5 second/ day so the accuracy is as good as a quartz (almost) but very good for a automatic mechanical watch, and almost better than a COSC watch (certified). The only (minor) niggle is the movement does not have hacking (ability to stop the second hand to match a time signal, but I’m being picky.

I wanted a good quality analogue watch with lume dial
I wanted a good quality analogue watch with lume dial, water resistant to allow sea swimming etc.but didn't want an ash-tray size thing on my wrist but also wanted a decent size dial face. After much searching I found the Seiko 5 Automatic SNZG15K1. Some fanatics on the watch forums get hung up on whether the model is made in either Korea (SNZK) or Japan (SNZJ). To my mind this is irrelevant. I've had the watch just over a week and am 100% satisfied with it. The appearance and performance of the watch is fantastic. The lume dial and hands is good, lasting well in to the night ( I glanced at it at 2:00am when I happen to wake up and could read the dial clearly half asleep). My favourite design feature is the raised edge around the dial where the hour marker batons sit and the upside down triangle at the 12 o'clock position with its nod to military field watch design. Despite the current trend for NATO watch straps on field watches such as this I actually like the strap that the watch comes on. The brushed metal buckle is a decent size and matches the brushed finish to the watch bezel. The strap material itself is robust and having worn it on one run so far doesn't noticeably retain lots of sweat. Overall an excellent watch which looks classy and performs very well.

Great value for the money.
I was looking for a field watch as I mostly have divers style watches and wanted something a little different with no rotating bezel.I chose this watch over the newer Seiko 5 models due to its slightly larger diameter case and the 22mm lug width. I wear a Garmin with a 26mm strap width and I just don't enjoy going as narrow as 20 now days.I really like this watch because of it's aesthetics and it goes head to head in looks with much more expensive time pieces. Because I am constantly rotating my watches according to mood or activity I didn't want to lash out on something super expensive just to have it sit in its box. This Seiko is perfect for what I wanted. A great looking Field watch from a well established watch making brand.I had read the reviews complaining that the watch stops running over night but I have not had that issue. It was running on delivery and I gave it 30 seconds of "Seiko swing" before putting it on. Normal days activity, took the watch off at around 10pm and it was still running fine at 8am.I can't really speak for the accuracy of the watch as I haven't had it for very long. It has a work horse Seiko movement and I couldn't really be bothered if it's accurate or not. It's a living working machine with cogs and gears and must be appreciated for what it is.Not measuring time to the nearest second anymore has actually made me a happier person anyway. The lume on the watch is fabulous and compares very well with my Seiko and Citizen dive watches which are well known for good lume.My one complaint is the strap. I really wanted to like it and give it a fair chance after reading all the negative reviews on the strap. After wearing the watch for an entire afternoon I had to admit that it was cutting slightly into my wrist. I tried to soften the edges by reverse folding for a few minutes but it didn't help at all.I have changed the strap to a cordura fabric and soft leather one. Much more comfy.I would highly recommend this watch even though the strap isn't great.Typically I don't really care what strap the watch comes with because I have "the sickness" which forces me to change straps and even the time piece itself on a regular basis. Apparently the only cure is to buy another watch.Don't tell my wife.

Best Watch for the money and best watch for even 3 times more
Absolutely 100% Seiko, From the Seiko outer box to the Seiko inner box with plush black velvet cushions surrounding the watch and all proper tags and European warranty booklet and instructions etc all brand new and perfect. This is a watch for the European market so does not have made in Japan on the dial but I suspect the Japanese domestic market ones do not either.. You will hear alot of nonsense regarding these details. Rest assured this is a proper Seiko with European warranty. If you are the kind of person who wants to pay £60 extra on a £100 watch for a few letters then go ahead. Plus you have no real warranty if you do so but to be fair you most likely would not need it. A few comments were made about the strap, To be honest I was surprised how good it was , I have put a black leather one on and to me looks a lot beter but the original one is fine.I pretty much guarantee you will not find a better Automatic watch than this anywhere, Even for a lot more money than the retail price on this.

Stops when not being worn! Very disappointing
Bought this watch to replace my twenty odd year old Seiko which has given great service - and still does. The SNZG15K1 looks great and is ideal in size. However, it keeps stopping. Appears to work perfectly when being worn, but I don’t want to wear a watch for 24 hours. Even if I wear it all day, once I take it off before retiring within a few hours it has stopped and needs to be reset. I like the watch very much, but it seems I have no real option but to return it. My concern is other buyers have also experienced this and any replacement could also be problematic. I shall contact Seiko for advice but i don’t think I’ve any option but to opt for a refund.
