Q: Can i use 3M tape to stick it too the wall rather than drilling?

I use the magnetic fixing to side of fridge rather than drilling to the wall. The magnetic fixing is strong - not had any problems with it slipping. Not sure it will work with 3M tape.

Q: Does the kitchen roll holder work? Some reviewers say it doesn't

I've had my spice rack for almost 6 months and I love it. The kitchen roll holder definitely works, I don't see how it couldn't because it's just a wooden stick that goes through the tube and then slots into the brackets . Hope this helps

Q: Does the magnetic side have any padding to prevent scratching?

Other than the magnetic strip at the back then no, I first put it on the fridge and it was secure there then ended up using screws and fixed to wall.
