I highly recommend this set! Worth the money totally! :)I wanted to try one of these, but this pack is more valuable so bought this. They came in original Japanese packaging. The ink is so much better than the pentel sign brush pen's. It's deeper black and just works better. There's some bleedtrough when you use a thin paper, but it's natural with a pen. They are easy to write with, I specially like the hard tip one! The dual tip pen has soft tips, one black and one gray. I use them for a while now, and they are stil not damaged.

I used these pensfor learning calligraphy. They come in a 3 pack in black. Can do thin and thick lines with each penNo smear. I would purchase again

I use these pens for shading and shadows in my Zentangle artwork. They are different than gel, micron or ball point pens, and you do need to practice with them before using them on a piece you don’t want to “ruin”. They leave a broader stroke than most pens.I love them and will definitely reorder!

I just want to preface this by saying that I got these brush pens with the intention of drawing lineart with them. I should've paid more close attention to the photos because they are calligraphy pens for writing signatures. Each pack even comes with this cool little ruler thing which helps line up 4 or 5 characters vertically (though I still messed it up in the photo)Why does this matter? Well, there's not really a hard line difference between signing brush pens vs. regular brush pens but signature brush pens, in my opinion, are generally more likely to run out of ink faster. One of the reasons I marked a star off is because I would've liked there to be some description of it as it would have changed my purchasing decision. Additionally, I think my hard brush is already a little dry and I've barely used it.On the plus side, it was pretty cheap

Edited to add: I am now 2 months into calligraphy. One pen lasts for 40 filled practice sheets - So about a month for me. I have tried a few other brands, but would definitely recommend the Tombo Fudenosuke hard tip to begin with - because of the more precise control. I have reordered - but in a 5 pack (instead of the dual pack with the soft tip) and have had no issues with either order. LOVE THIS PEN!!Original review:I did much research on brush pens that were good for beginners. These kept coming up, but the reviews were inconsistent. This is my 15th practice sheet. I have used the hard tip (blue barrel pen) almost exclusively. The ink seems plentiful! From the perspective of my limited knowledge (2 weeks in now), I would definitely recommend these brush tip pens. I have tried a few pens with softer tips - and I am not remotely ready for them. The hard tip gives enough resistance when forming the letters to get the pressure correct. The softer tip in this set is still quite firm and will be a nice transition - but, at this point, it is hard for me to imagine wanting to move to a softer tip!

I LOVE these pens. They will run out of ink before they start fraying no matter what kind of paper you use. I haven’t found any other pen as good as this one. If your looking for hand lettering pens this is a must have for your collection. Worth every penny.

AMAZING!!!! These brush pens are truly amazing! I wasn't sure how the brush tips would work when I originally bought these, but they are perfect for brush lettering. I love these brush pens for lettering because it's super easy to make a small line and to also make a nice thick line. I honestly prefer the soft tip over the hard tip, but I love both of them. The tips of the brushes are so durable and the ink flows out so nicely. I totally recommend these brush pens to anyone who likes brush lettering!
