The base game came with some recommended combinations of 5 races to play. Does this expansion come with recommendations on how to add the new races?

The Cosmic Incursion expansion game's instruction sheet simply mentions to "add the new alien cards to the ones of the base game" --- can't find any recommendations on how to combine.

Is this the reprint for the 42th anniversary edition, or the old version?

This is for the newer version produced by Fantasy Flights (2018), and is the newest iteration of the game. This is not for the 1977 version by Eon Games. (I got super lucky and picked up a used version of that in a local game shop!)
