Q: Regarding noise cancellation did you turn on acn ?

It is very good in noise cancelling, of course not as good as over ear headphones, but they are really good in muting generic noice around.

Q: are these pass thru capable? i.e. can I use them as wired also?

No, wireless only. They are great last for 8 hours.

Q: do you switch between devices, if you were on the PC but now need to make a call on a phone, do you have to disconnect on the PC ?

no you don't have to disconnect. But, I have had issues with the mic, does not pick up and people can't hear me when on a call. The technical help at Plantronics were NO HELP So, I would suggest finding a different device.
