Oatey 43582 3 in. or 4 in. ABS General Purpose Drain with 5 in. Stainless Steel Screw-Tite Strainer

A drain that I had outside had a plastic cover. Due to the sun and heat here in Arizona, I wanted something that would hold up. Of course, I have only had it installed for less than a year, but so far so good. And, it looks great.

First I’m not a plumber, maybe this was my problem. installing in a raised wood porch floor. Not shown in pics is that there is a angled cast ring that’s close to the to, maybe 1/4 inch below and screw mounting bosses for the grate that run from the top about 3/8 down the side. Makes it very difficult to instal to wood, would be much better set into concrete. 3 stars for quality finish and assembly. Minus 1 star for poor pictures that do not show bottom clearly. Decided not to use due to above fitment issues.

I correct information of item. Should fit 2” pipe or inside 3” pipe but is a 4” opening at bottom. Have to modify for it to fit properly

The drain cover was good but should have 2 screws came with 1

This drain cover is listed as basically a 6” drain, but unfortunately the hole pattern which is actually where the water can run through is actually only about 4”. I will return.

I had a hard time finding a simple straight forward floor drain. Everything else seemed to be overly complex and expensive or inexpensive and fragile. I didn't know the depth of my flange and the concrete around it but I knew the diameter of the pipe. I knew one this simple I could just cut it to size and glue it on. It worked great.

Under item description they list the drain as fitting inside of 3” pipe or outside of 2” pipe. When I received the drain I realized the pipe is actually bigger and when reading the tag I noticed it says the drain fits inside of 4” pipe or outside of 3” pipe. Luckily I hadn’t glued any of my pipe yet so I am able to replace it with some bigger stuff instead. Otherwise it seems well made and should function as a floor drain as intended
