Lonely Planet Portugal Planning Map

This is perfect for my Camino Portuguese that I’m about to embark. I was a little dubious having read the comments but ordered anyway as well as the Philips version just in case. It’s cute ☺️ comes in a little presentation box complete with stickers & the map appears robust! We shall see i guess… But it’ll stash away in my pack (minus the packaging). Google Earth shows most things to see along the way & the stickers will allow me to highlight what i want to see 👍

Easy to negotiate

Small in size but contains useful information.

Plan on doing N2 this year. The map shows other routes In Portugal which we plan on exploring. Great stickers to place on routes too

Disappointed with this Lonely Planet Planning Map- im not sure how you could plan with it To be honest -The map itself is 2 sided, one side has the map of Portugal- which shows large towns and cities with only Motorway /A roads numbered , not suitable if travelling around an area and don't want to travel on these main roads. The paper its printed on is very thin -although on the cardboard case it says WATERPROOF - definitely not !!!The map side shows 3 routes North , Middle and South . The other side of the map shows 15 towns with what to do in them- and a small information appraisal on each , not as good as you would get in a tourist information office.overall the booklet/map would be in my opinion useless if wanting to know where you are going whilst travelling

I bought the Lonely Planet Portugal Guide book at the same time as this map, not realising that a copy of the map was already included with the guide book. My recommendation would be to buy the guide book rather than just the map.

Even with SatNav it is great to have a map of the whole country so you can plan to make your travels more interesting. We found a hotel built by the Knights Templar in Tomar as a midpoint that we would have missed without this map.

This is a pretty good map. It helped me a lot for what I needed.
