Perfect!
I opted to buy the refurbished version for approx 1/2 the price. It was shipped really fast, just in time to make noodles for Easter dinner! Packaging was as if it was brand new, I love the helpful measuring cups, the cleaning tool, and the assortment of dyes. But let me tell you, this machine is so handy, it has a scale in it, you put the flour in until you get to the weight you want then it tells you how much liquid to put in, then it mixes and extrudes it. It took me a little less than 1/2 an hour to make 1.5 lbs of egg noodles. I then boiled the water, added Better than Bullion, and the noodles cooked up in just a few minutes. They were wonderful and so much healthier!Of course you have to clean it afterwards but it all comes apart easily and the cleaning tool plus hot sudsy water and a little scrubbing and it comes clean. It also has a handy drawer for the dyes. This is my new favorite kitchen tool!!

think twice...
Honestly, I thought this would be a great product to add to the kitchen appliance collection, as prices for pasta (among other items) have increased in the store and you knew exactly what was in your pasta and not worry about ingredients. However, after several unsuccessful attempts, back in the box it went and returned. What seemed like a good idea turned into a frustrating afternoon. I tried several different recipes and still the machine would not cooperate. As you can see from the pictures, that was the extent of the pasta received during the extruding process. On one attempt, the machine wouldn't even extrude the dough. Recipes used were from the actual manual included and another from the Red Mill flour bag, as well as an internet recipe. Eggs, with or without, etc., nothing helped me with end product. For those that got lucky and managed for their machine to produce pasta, kudos; wish I was one of those. The appliance was nicely boxed and packaged. I received everything they mentioned and all new. Fairly easy to assemble, changing out the dies; cleaning wasn't the greatest, as the dough was in the nooks and crannies and required the tool supplied to clean dies as opposed to just running water through it. All in all for the money, it was a bust and I won't be purchasing another electric pasta machine.

Easy for a newbie
The media could not be loaded. Came back from Italy and NEEDED handmade pasta back home in the states! Who knew pasta could be so good! The trick with this machine is to follow the measurements to make cookie crumble like dough. It’s not like when you hand roll pasta at all.The ratio for the mixture is in the paper instructions that comes with machine: 400 flour to 140 (1egg/water). No oil, no salt. To make it PERFECT, I press start. Then I choose the “pasta” button—It zeros out the scale built into the container. Once the scale reads “400” for the flour, I mix one egg and water in the smaller measurement cup to 140 total. I think the egg is 50 and rest is of measurement is the water. Mix really well so egg is fully mixed with water. Otherwise when you pour the water egg mixture on the top of lid, it won’t go through the small holes fast enough for your patience. The crumbles then go through the tube like play-dough and get squeezed into noodles. As you can see in my video, it doesn’t look like dough. Which was weird at first and made me think it was too dry. If it’s clumping together (too wet), it can’t “fall” into the opening it needs to go through to get squeezed into noodles.I use Bobs Red Mill Semonlina Flour because it keeps the shape of the pasta when boiling.Buy this machine! You’ll never buy pasta from the store again. As far as cleaning: I just put everything in my top rack dishwasher. There’s a tile pull out tray on machine to put the several noodle disks in for storage. Keep the cleaning needle for the hard to clean little holes.

It pays off to research recipes
I just used this machine for the first time. I have never made pasta before--not by hand or machine. Before I tried it for the first time, I joined a group on social media for folks with automatic pasta makers like this. Those folks had some good tips. I mixed up a basic dough with one egg, semola, and all purpose for my first try. I did two knead cycles back to back. Then let it rest for 30 minutes (a tip I learned in the scial media group). It looked a little dry so I added about 10ml more water to my dough and did the quick pasta cycle--which kneads and immediately extrudes. I used the die/mold for wide noodles--traditional egg noodles. The machine will not extrude all of the dough. It stops after awhile, so I had to restart it twice. There was still dough left, but I had plenty of noodles. I'll try to figure that out later. I read another review that said to slightly elevate the back end to force more of the dough toward the front. It extruded exactly as the manual said that it should--at first the noodles are a little rough, but then they were very smooth. The noodles tasted great! I am really pleased. My hope is to be able to use some freshly milled kamut in my pasta making. I need more experience before I attempt that with this machine. For the price I am happy.

This pasta maker is awesome!
This pasta maker is easy to set up and use. I have had no problem making any size pasta. I have used the regular spaghetti size disc, extra thick, but my favorite is the angel hair thin pasta dough disc that I mostly use all the time. The couple recipes they give are easy to follow to make great pasta! I have had no problem at all with this machine that makes homemade pasta and it’s so quick and easy! I timed my self on clean up and I can have the whole machine cleaned and the discs cleaned in about 5 to 6 minutes which includes getting the pasta out of the wholes in the disc used. Basically I am done cleaning by the time the pasta is cooked and ready to eat. I am amazed at this pasta machine and have had no issues with it at all and I have had it about 4 months. I make multiple pasta weekly. This machine is awesome!
