This item saved me lots of $$money! No need to get a new key made, yours will still work!
Save yourself lots of money and reuse your original key and fob module by using this awesome replacement case. My Honda keys, like many others out there, will eventually fall apart or break. Honda did a really bad job designing this key. Then when it fails the dealers will charge you $130 to make me a new key, along with another $100 to program it. RIP OFF! My internal module was still good and so was my key. The case is what cracked and was failing. This fob case will fix that problem. It worked on my 2010 3rd gen CR-V and will work on most Hondas that use this style key fob. I was going to just buy a new key fob with a blank key that would need to be cut by a locksmith that will charge $50 or more to make. Plus you will need to get all your keys including spare keys re-programmed which will cost you more money. Youtube has videos on programing the new fob by going through a sequence of steps, BUT this will only get you so far by being able to unlock your doors. When you go to start your car, it will shut off because of what's called an immobilizer in your ignition. This is where dealers or a locksmith will have to plug an OBD device into your car in order to reprogram all your keys. So, if your key still works and your case is the problem, then buy this. It works great and for $8 it's worth a try. See the before and after pictures. It seems to be good quality and it'll save you LOTS of time and MONEY!!! One thing is there are no instructions. It's easy to figure out, just be patient and see how your key is positioned in your original key fob. With this new fob case, it doesn't just snap together, you will have to first slide in the small plastic piece that goes around your key, then slide it (kind of like a hook and loop) into the bottom half of the case. Then you can snap it closed and screw the screw in tightly. Hope this helps! ---UPDATE 08-03-2023 Both cases lasted 2 years before failing. Still not bad for the low cost. I don't mind replacing them every couple of years if needed. Still cheaper than buying from the dealer.

Worth the price
I have a 2007 Honda Civic. The original key finally ran out of batteries after 12 years. I couldn't reuse the original housing because the small screw was frozen and stripped when I tried to remove it. I had to break the housing open to get the parts out.I did not want to find out how much the local Honda dealership would charge for a new battery/shell case so I initially got the "Amazon's Choice" version. That product was terrible and did not fit properly. This product was more expensive but fit perfectly. Takes a few minutes to put the key back together. I did note that the small screw included with this product is a smaller diameter than the original. It remains to be seen whether this smaller screw will hold up over time. The only other drawback is the price. It is a cheap plastic shell so not sure it is justified. At the same time, it works and saved me time, hassle and money.

Worked for me so far, not sure on durability yet
This key fob shell worked perfectly for my 2011 Honda Civic LX. It was easy to put together, the car starts and all the buttons work, plus it was inexpensive. It's too early to say if its durable but they did send 2 fobs. My key did not have a transponder that needed to be glued into the fob case as the the instructions on this one mention. There's a similar key fob on Amazon under this link https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KSCGYJ5/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_3?smid=A8V58NF308F9W&psc=1 (2 Pcs Replacement Key Fob Shell Case Fit for Honda 2010-2011 Accord Crosstour /2006-2011 Civic/ 2007-2013 CR-V / 2011-2015 CR-Z / 2009-2013 Fit / 2011-2014 Odyssey 3 Buttons Car Key Fob Cover Casing) that shows better/different pictures which imply the transponder may be inside the "guts" of the key and that was the case with my key.

Broke within 1 month
Went together well initially but after about 1 month of normal use the case broke where the metal key portion is held in. Almost lost the transponder and circuit board. Unfortunately, cannot recommend this product.

Quality plastic. Fit and finish is like OEM
My civic finally has a key that I don't have to super glue every other month. Why didn't I do this sooner? Fits great. Looks great. same textured finish as OEM. Super easy takes 2 min to fix. Even got a new color. Just buy it you can thank me later.

Saves money but takes time
For my 2007 key the switch pod fits perfectly the cut metal “key”fits in it’s holder and locks in the new shell, it does need a bit of adjustment to make sure the screw will eventually go through. I needed a dremel tool to cut out the casing with the rfid chip from the old shell, as the chip was glued in. The new shell has space for the chip in the old case. I had to remove a bit of plastic under the chip. You need to be careful not to cut the chip. Getting the chip carrier small enough to fit the shell and short enough to close the case is a time consuming process.

Quick and Inexpensive Fix
Easy to install and will wait to see long term performance. The screws go directly to the plastic cover instead of metal insert so durability is TBD. Overall, works well and as described as cheap solution to replacing with expensive OEM.
