Xit XT700EX Pro Series Digital SLR Auto-Focus E-TTL Flash with LCD Display, Bounce, Zoom/Swivel for Canon DSLR (Black)

The unit will take nice photo's and works well as a dedicated TTL flash with my Canon 7D. If you leave the batteries in the unit for more than a week, ( like I did twice on a 2 week vacation) it killed 2 sets of 4 Duracell AA Batteries! The first time I thought I forgot to turn it off and found it dead! The second time I made sure it was off and was dead ( after I used it twice again ) when I tried to use it when returning home! I might understand after a month or two of non-use but a week is not acceptable!!!!!!!! I left my large Sunpack unit at home and batteries remained good for a year!

In the age of products with rechargeable batteries you would think that they would make this flash with one. Bought this to go along with my Canon T4i set of photography equipment that I use as my hobby. This flash guzzles through batteries like no body's business. I brought it to a party with me to see how well it works. Pretty much after several flashes with brand new Energizer Lithiums it was dead. I resorted to the built in flash for the rest of the evening. This was a waste of money, but, I got what I paid for.

I could not believe they shipped this flash as a new and working item. Half of the lcd screen was blank (where it should display the ISO setting, etc.). Did not communicate with the camera with TTL informations. It fired at random about 1 time out of 10 times in a dark environment (even though it fired consistently on pilot). Wasted my time. It is going back.
