This stuff works for paint transfers, scuffs and light scratches. Legit.
I came back from vacation to someone having swiped my driver's side door, awesome! Especially as my lease is done the end of the month. Luckily I ordered this great kit. It completely removed the scuff marks and 95% of the scratches. As others have mentioned if the scratches are deep it's beyond this kit. However, it definitely made a huge difference in my car, it's almost perfect and you have to really be looking to see any damage now. Highly recommend. Wish me luck at my lease turn in!

Worked well on a polyester guitar
I bought a guitar with a repair that had been sanded out in one direction leaving obvious scratch marks. This kit did a good job of minimizing the scratches. It took multiple passes and neither the guitar nor the drill would hold still, but it worked! There was a hint of haze but since the color was Olympic White, not an issue. Note that this is for scratches so fine, you can't feel them. It's closer to an aggressive polish than an abrasive, although there is a very fine abrasive at work. I'm certain this product is too aggressive for nitro finishes.

Excellent for Light Blemishes, Requires Patience for Deeper Scratches (4/5 Stars)
I bought the Meguiar's Quik Scratch Eraser Kit primarily to deal with some light key marks and annoying swirl marks left by automatic car washes on my daily driver. This kit is a fantastic, convenient package that includes the powerful ScratchX compound, a drill-mounted pad, and a quality microfiber towel. The Good (Why it earns 4 stars): This kit is an absolute winner for removing surface blemishes, oxidation, and light clear coat imperfections like fine swirl marks. The ScratchX compound is surprisingly effective and easy to work with. The inclusion of the drill-mounted pad is the key feature here—it saves an immense amount of time and effort compared to working by hand, distributing the product evenly and providing the necessary mechanical agitation without the expense of a dedicated orbital polisher. For those annoying, shallow scratches, it removed about 90% of them quickly, restoring a fantastic depth and clarity to the paint. The Not Quite Perfect (Why not 5 stars): The main reason I can't give this 5 stars is related to the "Quik" promise for anything beyond light scratches. If the scratch is deep enough to catch your fingernail, this kit requires a significant time commitment—you have to make multiple, slow, overlapping passes with consistent pressure. If you rush the process, or if you press too hard, the drill pad can occasionally leave minor hazing or buffer trails that require a final hand buff to correct. It's a powerful tool, but it demands respect and patience, which slightly contradicts the "Quik" labeling. Summary: This is the best DIY solution on the market for erasing light scuffs and perfecting a finish. It provides professional-level results for swirls and minor clear coat damage. Just remember that true, deep scratches are best left to a body shop, or tackled with careful, repeated effort using this kit.

Cement Wall Vs My Car
I don’t write reviews often, but wow does this product deserve its 5 stars! It’s only meant for surface scuffs, but it did pretty amazing against the oopsie I had against a cement wall. It definitely doesn’t get it all out, but it removed a good chunk of the damage and made it look a little better. It was very easy to use and attach to my drill. I used it to get some other surface scratches I had around my car too and it took those out completely. I unfortunately didn’t take before photos of the little scuffs, but they’re 100% gone. I highly recommend this product.

??
It looks great when I just put it on. All the light scratches were gone. But after a few days all the marks are visible again. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

Good value for the price with excellent results!
Put the product to the drill pad and used it to apply to the scratches that varied in depth on the clear coat finish on the body of my truck. I used a cordless drill. Used slower rpms, then increased the speed as the scratches started to disappear. It eliminated all of the scratches in the clear coat, and there were many. The video showed making an X on the pad with the "lotion" like product. I used a few pea sized dabs to begin with, and had results showing. I continued to apply pea sized dabs with success. I didn't end up using all that much product. Pad was worn, but still has life for many more clear coat scratches it can remove. Very pleased with the results!

Great for removing paint transfers!
I bought this product hoping to remove a white paint transfer from the bumper of my truck. The transfer was about 6” x 6” and pretty thick. Tried using WD40 without success This Meguiar’s kit did the job and removed the entire transfer without damaging the original paint or clear coat. NOTE: The first step is applying the product onto the sponge and working onto the surface. My initial reaction was disappointing as nothing seemed to happen. However, I was amazed what happened after dampening the sponge and working it again. The transfer just melted away. I made a second pass to address a few thick spots which did the job. Strongly recommend looking at YouTube videos on paint transfers to see how it’s done before doing it yourself. I hindsight, I wish i had taken a pic before starting but didn’t.

Overpromises and Underdelivers on Real Scratches
I purchased the Meguiar's Quik Scratch Eraser Kit with the hope of reviving the finish on my car after noticing several light surface scratches and scuff marks. The kit is marketed as an “easy, DIY solution” that doesn’t require professional tools or detailing experience—and while it does come with everything you need to get started, the actual results were disappointing at best and borderline ineffective at worst. What the Kit Includes: ScratchX 2.0 compound (4 oz tube) Drill-mounted foam pad Microfiber towel The value seems good on the surface—you’re getting a compound, an applicator, and a cloth for around $20–$25. It’s a compact and approachable kit, especially for those new to auto detailing. However, that's where the strengths pretty much end. What Worked: User-Friendly Design: The instructions are simple, and the drill attachment fits most standard cordless drills. The kit is clearly intended for beginners, and in that sense, it is very easy to use. Good Packaging: The materials come well-packed and appear to be of decent quality (especially the foam pad and microfiber towel). Smells Nice: Not essential, but the compound has a pleasant scent—not chemical or overpowering like some other products. What Didn’t Work: Minimal Impact on Real Scratches: Despite being called a “Scratch Eraser,” this product did very little to remove even the lightest scratches. On one occasion, it slightly reduced the appearance of a superficial mark, but anything deeper than a hairline scratch remained fully visible. Tons of Elbow Grease for Little Reward: Even when using the compound multiple times on the same area with firm, consistent pressure via the drill pad, I saw almost no meaningful difference. For a product that promotes “quick” results, it was anything but. Drill Attachment Awkwardness: The foam pad doesn’t offer much control or coverage on curved areas or near trims. It also throws product if you’re not super careful, and it can dry out quickly if you don't reapply frequently. Compound Gummed Up Easily: The ScratchX 2.0 compound dries out fairly quickly during use and can leave a hazy film that’s hard to fully buff out. It was more of a polishing agent than a real scratch repair formula. No Long-Term Value: Once the compound is gone (and it goes fast), you're left with a drill attachment and towel. The foam pad may degrade after just a few uses, making it less reusable than advertised. What It Might Be Good For: Removing light oxidation, swirl marks, or superficial scuffs—especially on clear coat finishes. Slight cosmetic improvements that don’t involve real damage or tactile scratches. Temporary shine and polish—just don’t expect actual scratch removal. Final Verdict: Meguiar’s Quik Scratch Eraser Kit is more of a gimmick than a real solution. If you’re looking to actually remove scratches—especially those you can feel with a fingernail—this won’t help. It’s essentially a pricey polishing kit dressed up as a scratch repair solution. For truly effective scratch removal, a proper polishing system, dual-action buffer, or professional detailing is a much better investment. It’s not a total scam, but it’s definitely not the miracle solution it claims to be. Skip this and spend your money on something that actually corrects paint—not just shines it temporarily.
