My 12 year old son built this with my help and it took about 1.5-2 hours.Once built the toy works as intended if it is handled with care.There are several gears which may get out of place with rougher play.The discs/propeller fly far about 60-80 feet horizontally and are fun.Building the toy is not for 8 year olds, more like 12-14 year olds who have previous experience with LEGO Technic for instance.

This thing is a complete piece of s***. Might work twice and then stops. The mechanisms just randomly started rubbing against each other it won't let the disc launch. I even broke it down and put it all back together and add extra little plastic washers to try and keep it from snagging but it's still trash.

I purchase one for my son and one for my nephew (both 10 years old). They had a lot of fun building them and then had contest to see who could launch the discs the farthest.
