I have been painting for many years and when it comes to acrylics Golden paints are the only ones I used. I especially like using the newer OPEN line over the original ones since they give you a little more time to work before drying. Clean, buttery, highly-pigmented, consistent. Highly recommend.

Golden Open is a good consistent brand.

I love Golden Open paints. They almost work like ink instead of paint. You can layer them in the most beautiful and translucent ways. This color is beautiful.

Much more vibrant in my opinion and they spread more like a hand lotion which I really like. They have a glossiness to them that regular acrylics do not have. You still have to do more layers than oil, maybe 1 extra to get the block in of the painting fully covered, but I do like how easy to clean up they are and how they last a bit longer before they dry out.

I find that the paint stays “open” longer when I use a bit of the retarder, but don’t add too much as it will thin out your paint

I like the longer open time, but they need more pigment. I have to double coat often.

When they say slow drying, it certainly is . Mixes well with other colors . Very happy with the price
