Wordy and Rambling
I bought this book as a way to learn about 5G. I have been in the wireless business, both as an engineer and in business roles, since 1984 and have worked on new technologies all my professional life. After a break, I am returning to the wireless business and needed to get up to speed ASAP. Unfortunately, this book is not a guide for those with no 5G detailed knowledge. There is just way too much repetitive information and it mixes the justification for 5G with the implementation of 5G - I know it is needed and why, I need to know how it is put together. After all, the introduction is close to 200 pages long!I returned it and started reading 3GPP specifications, which should tell you a lot - reading specifications is not always an interesting way to spend time. Too bad, I really wanted to like this book.

The best overall text on 5GNR that I have seen to date..
outstanding and detailed text on both Release 15 and the latest updates as of April 2019 on Release 16.

Good source of information with some unnecessary repetitions
In general, I liked the level of details in the subjects but I noticed that some sections (e.g. NFV) are full of unnecessary repetitions.

Comprehensive and a great reference book
I have to admit I did not read the book from cover to cover. At almost 1000 pages it would take the better part of a year to get through this book. I refer to this book as THE reference text for 5G architectures. I've used the Channel Coding chapter multiple times to get a thorough understanding of that portion of the 5G architecture. I am in a marketing role for 5G and this is my go-to book for reference when I need to get into the extreme detail of 5G.

Collage of Repetitive Information
There seems to be lots of information in repeated chapters in the book. This book is written in a way that gives the reader the impression that the author only wanted to cram as much information in one book without any regards to the information flow and to the connection in between chapters. I found it very hard to navigate through this book. Comparing it to the 5G book written by C. Johnson, the latter is much leaner though both are incomplete resources when it comes to the physical channel aspects of 5G.

Poor job
I purchased this book while back and each time I open it I regret purchasing it.The flow of material is poor and sounds to me the author just wanted to copy material from Specsand fill up the book. It is really hard to make sense out of this book.

Good content, Figures are black and white
The contents of the book are well organized and nicely written. The techniques that have been discussed in 5G NR standardization has been adequately presented in this book. However, I am not totally satisfied by the quality of the figures, and that is why I give three stars rating. In the printed version of the book, some figures are too small, and generally, all figures are in black and white, which is not the case for the online version. On the amazon page of this book, it has not been mentioned that the figures are printed in black and white. In some cases, black and white figures are entirely useless (see attached photo). Thus, one still needs an online pdf version of the book to look at the colored figures.

Content acceptable, difficult to navigate
The content of the book is acceptable. Covering most of the relevant 5G (Rel-15 and Rel-16) features. The table of contents does not provide enough granularity, e.g. Chapter 4 is really extensive and only 2 sections can be addressed from the table of contents, where there are many other sub-sections.Note: for Kindle PC application, you must double click on the figures to improve resolution, otherwise not readable. An update would be highly appreciated!
