Stay away EXTREMELY outdated and HORRIBLE customer service.
Simply put the product doesn't work as described. It will randomly just stop tracking and wont work again until its unplugged and plugged back in to the car. 1 minute updates? nope.... More like 2-3 or maybe 30. Is my device defective? Its quite possible that it is but since i have contacted customer service 4 times now and they haven't contacted me back at all i have no choice but to return the product and go a different route. Just purely based upon the customer service i have received i would avoid this product at all cost.If thats not enough lets get into the interface of the device. Speed limits? This literally looks like it was coded for windows 98 and on top of that it uses a version of google maps that google doesn't even support anymore. Its clunky, slow and just looks honestly like they paid someone $5/hr to write all the API calls into google maps for them. There is alot of new products on the market now. Im going to be looking at those and suggest you do the same.Edit: I cant reply to their reply of this review so im editing this and replying again. 100% of what they said below is a blatant lie Look at my photos do those look like 1 minute updates to you? I guess the car drove 12 miles in 1 minute huh.... Liars If your so right why have i still never received an email or a phone call from you? Ill tell you why because you and your service sucks...

No.
I have been using this device for the last year about. The first 2 months were good and since then...it has been hell. Their service never works right. When I look up online to see where my vehicle is I never know if it's really located where the map says.I pay them for 30 second (or 1 minute whichever is the top tier) updates and I get updates an hour late. For instance, right now I'm getting geofence triggers from 2 hour and 32 minutes ago. Im probably not doing my math right but that's not even a 1 minute update. You all should check my math for me.Call a mathematician from Yale or Harvard. We need formulas to figure out this calculation.Mastrack's customer service just "remotely" resets and reprograms the device. They have never offered a refund, a new device, not even a $1 credit. They just tell me how it's not them or they "are having partner issues" which just means AT&T sucks. If the problems aren't fixed by the time my subscription is up, I'll be finding a new company who wants my money and referrals, I'll file a complaint with the BBB if Mastrack is supported by the BBB, and I'll call my credit card company to get my years worth of money back.I've actually referred 4 people who have teenager drivers but I told them to hold off to see if Mastrack will address my problems.I cannot recommend this product since it doesn't work correctly in a large city and is too expensive.

Simple, Works, Reasonable Cost
That's the usual trifecta. Completely plug-n-play. Installation a snap (literally). I do recommend you get a right-angle OBD extension cable of about 3 feet, which will allow you to wire-tie both the MasTrack and cable up out of the way rather than it sticking down obtrusively from your under dash OBD port. From time I first plugged it in, to time I was watching live positional data on the map was about 10 minutes. This includes the time it took me to go register an account at their website, activate the device, and sign up for a monitoring plan. The user interface on the website (as others have noted) is a bit clunky but if you are just a little bit tech saavy and used to such things you won't have any trouble navigating it. The lack of a dedicated mobile app is why 4 stars instead of 5. You can make do with a mobile browser, and I don't mind that, but really... there is just no excuse not to have an app.One other thing, because it is portable (a strength) it is easy to remove (a weakness, depending on why you are using it). You will know if this happens, or if it is moved to another vehicle but that is small comfort if your tracking just winks out because the device was unplugged. That is why I recommended using an extension cable to hide it away from the OBD port. You can purchase serialized plastic security loops/seals to wrap around it and help identify when/if this happens, although it would have been nice if they thought to include a hole in the clam shell itself to facilitate doing this.Bottom line is I wanted something that was plug-and-play, quick and easy, and not enormously expensive. This is all of these. Long term reliability? No clue. Time will tell. But my initial impression is very positive, enough so that I came back to rate it.

Excellent tracker with supreme performance.
We had an employee who was using one of our company trucks. We couldn't figure out why he was going through so much gas and why certain tasks were taking so long. We put this on the truck, and oh boy!!! This little contraption gave us a whole lot of information. He was taking long lunches, going home a lot, and basically doing a lot of messing around. In one pay period alone, it saved us 12 hours that were being charged but not worked. If you're worried about a cheating spouse, I would imagine this would be a great thing too. You insert it down below so it isn't seen unless it is specifically looked for. If you don't tell, they never know.As for the system, we used the every 2 minutes. This is ample for our purposes. If you want to know where your lover might be, I believe there's a plan that goes every 1 minutes. Either way, this thing shows you RIGHT WHERE the vehicle is. It gives times, addresses, MPH driven, and more. Excellent tracker. You won't be disappointed (unless you catch someone doing something wrong).

Easy to install
Easy to install. Setup was a bit strange - a bug in their website. For some reason I couldn't create a new account and activate at the same time, but logging back in and adding a device worked fine. Might have been a browser issue on my end. Not sure.
