I don't use this item all the time, but man it's handy when my hands are tired! Love that it folds up so it's nit getting caught in everything else in my bag.

Does the job tightens your laces Comfortable in the hand and hasn't broken yet. can't ask for more

I'm 69, have osteoarthritis, and was finding it very painful to tighten my running shoe laces. The shoes loosened on the treadmill because I could not hook my fingers through the laces to tighten them before tying. So I ordered this tool, and am very pleased! It hooks right under the laces, you pull up, and by the end of the lace tightening you can tie your bow knowing the laces offer even pressure across the top of the foot and don't loosen.PRO: It works! Also the hook folds down into the handle, which makes it nice should you want to take it to the gym to tighten your shoes there.CON: Occasionally I have trouble hooking it under laces in order to *loosen* them for shoe removal. I don't believe there's an answer for this, but I wanted to mention it for prospective customers. It does not keep me from appreciating the job it does overall.

Arrived Early. Looks like good quality. Haven't used it yet but I think it's pretty sturdy. The hook is kinda wobbly once fully extended out but if you hold it in place it would work.I like that the hook isn't a sharp edge to not damage skates. It gets under the laces comfortably and is very effective.

Years ago, I played hockey and everyone had a lace hook. Nowadays, all I lace up are my work boots but this is a great, handy little gadget to have! I got one for home and one for the road. I love the folding feature! My old one was a metal T-shape and, if you didnt wrap it with tape, would pinch the inside of your finger when you pulled. This one doesn't do that!I'm going to get my son a couple for when he goes to USMC boot camp in June. They might not let him use them at Parris Island but he'll appreciate them when he starts lacing up 10" boots every day!Update: 01 NOV 2020I got these for all the guys in my son's platoon plus a few extras for the drill instructors. I shipped them after they completed boot camp, and before shipping out to further training, so there would be no question of favoritism or bribery. We weren't allowed to attend graduation due to covid restrictions on post so I wanted the fellows to have a graduation gift that would be of use to them in their military careers. They were well received!❤

I am fussy about lacing up my hockey skates. I have scrawny feet which require the lace tension to be just so tight or loose, plus I like my laces to lay nice & flat across the skate's tongue. This lace tightener is the hot ticket to get under the laces and pull the lace just a little bit tighter.Folded up, the lace tightener fits nicely in my hockey glove and I can easily carry it to the bench, just in case I want to adjust my laces while sitting on the bench.The bright red color makes the tightener easy to find in the bottom of my gear bag too.At this price, be sure to order a spare or two, just in case you lose it or somebody borrows it and doesn't bring it back.

I thought it would help me tighten up my ice skating laces. Seems easy to use but needs some strength to pull it as well. It makes no difference to how I tie it myself, same amount of effort.

Over many years of playing hockey and now tying up boots, I have always come back to these, Sturdy, inexpensive, comfortable and easy to use, easy to carry. Can't beat them.
