Best book for intermediate learners
This is a classic gem available in the market of solid state physics or condensed matter physics. I would recommend it to every learner of the subject. It is better than the popular Kittel’s book.

Good book with detailed explanation
I loved the book. Awesome content. When I first saw the index it seemed something wrong (printing mistake) orientation of text printed was not aligned. But yes all other things are great. Must have for physics lover.

Must have for Condensed Matter Physicists
It is what it is, a standard textbook for condensed matter physics. Somehow I don't understand if this book is a legit retail copy or not. There is a marking of IISER Pune on the book. The seller should be concerned about it.

A good read!
Great book to get a glimpse of the evolution of solid state physics down to the quantum mechanical level. It starts off with crude theories of the past and brings it's focus on the modern theories and approximations. It's a good book for in depth study of the subject. Undergraduates might find it challenging though.

Just a reprint not a genuine product from CENGAGE
The quality of the material of the book is very poor.... pages are so thin and the printings are transparent... disappointed with the quality actually...3stars only for the contents of the book.

The coverage of the book is for advanced or "Pre-Ph.D." study.
First of all, the copy I have received, is printed all the right. This particular text actually is compilation of topics and discussions not only indispensable but the building blocks for study of Solid State Physics. Now, my personal concern is: This text is not at all for "first hand study" rather a "Prerequisite Study" of Solid State Physics from the text by M. Ali Omar or S. O. Pillai is a must. However, the topics like Brillouin Zones, Transition Metals, Tight Binding Model have been discussed elaborately.
