Q: I have a airtel broadband connection at 2nd floor at speed of 8MBps and I want to increase the range to 1st and ground floor, will this modem help?

Seems like I am not the only one with this situation. Well I'll tell you what I did. Placed this D-Link DIR-615 n300 on the first floor of my house, took a 10 meter long CAT-5E ethernet wire(see: http://www.amazon.in/Quantum-Ethernet-Patch-Straight-Category/dp/B00GZLHM0O/ref=pd_bxgy_147_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=1F1MCJY3PYAWD3TFT32Q#Ask), connected one end in one of RJ45 port of airtel modem(Binatone 850 or something) placed on 2nd floor, and the other end of the wire on the WAN port of D-Link 615. Onto the admin page of D-Link, entered new SSID and set password. Voila whole of my house is Wi-Fi enabled, with excellent signal strength in every corner.My home has 4 floors. Every inch of it is covered now.
