Excellent budget thermal
This is a remarkably sturdy, good quality thermal camera for the price. It appears to be either an original or excellent clone of the Chinese Nighthawk x2 thermal camera and arrives with a 9.7 mm lens. A real bonus is that this comes with the electronic menu and (admittedly brief) manual in English. This is very useful for those of us who are not fluent in Chinese. As with all thermals, this is a sensitive piece of equipment so time will tell if it will hold up to some abuse. Regardless, for the price I am very pleased with how functional and sensitive it is out of the box. Finally, I do need to put in a good word for the seller. They did a great job communicating with me and coordinating customs and shipping despite part but not all of the shipping occurring during the 145% tariff era.

Not worth it.
I had it mounted on a rail and a minor bump knocked it right off the base. I tried to repair it myself but no luck. All the screws barely sit in and it was just mostly adhesive sticking it together. Update: upon further review, the screws actually broke off the rail attachment. I only bumped putting it in safe. Definitely not for rugged outdoor use while mounted.

The Little Engine that could!
OK so maybe dating myself with that review title but it is so true! As everyone knows Thermal is better for detection through obscurants like fog and for use during the day, but it is expensive and offers less detail, while night vision (NV) is superior for identification due to a clearer, more natural image and is more affordable, but it is less effective in daylight (if at all based on digital vs Analog) and is blinded by fog and smoke. So, I ordered this because I was looking for something small that I could cantilever mount off my Hog/Coyote rifle. Best of both worlds but I also did not want it to weigh a ton… I have a Sightmark Wraith, so not heavy and this fit the bill perfectly. The YY320 aka Nighthawk is 320x240 which is amazing in such a small package. The LCD is clear and crisp and the 50hz refresh rate isn’t bad, actually pretty darn good, not much lag. The aluminum construction seems very solid while keeping the weight down. This also has zoom capabilities, 1X, 2X 3X, which are clear and once again, amazing they can get this many options in a small package. The Laser assist is infinity offset on the camera itself so the laser should not align with the crosshairs unless you want to set it up that way. I am not intending on using it for aiming, just for detection, but the red laser is a nice touch. The mount comes separately in the box, so you need to attach it, do not forget to use some Loctite (not included). Crosshairs are very easily turned on and off. Which is a big plus to me. The menu itself is super simple, and you will see that after you open it and see the 4 pages of instructions lol, very simple. The photos and a short video were made in my home and outside during the day so you can get a pretty good idea of the capabilities. I have since mounted it and tried it but not sure if Amazon condones that so those will not be shown. All in all it functions as intended, I should say exceeds... So now for the thing I think they can improve. While I appreciate all the thermal palettes, maybe cut it down to a handful, most of them I will not use. I must admit the green really brings me back to my NVG days in the service. At night the LCD gets a little bright but very easy to tone that down with the down arrow on the controls area/top of unit. Next, while I love rechargeable, as it saves me money on batteries, I would have liked the option of cr123a or rechargeable/removable batteries. I get it trying to keep the form factor small, but one can hope right? Finally, a lens cover, for when not in use, I will pick up one but really wish it came with one. So closing out, this is everything I could have asked for especially in the price range and I have no problem at all recommending it. Thanks for reading!

really cool concept, product is heading in the right direction but just not fully there yet
i have to give to them the product is a head in the right direction for affordable thermal scopes only that i got a defective one. really wish i got a good one so i could have kept it because the concept and size are on point speacially if you are just now trying to get into thermal scopes this would have been great build quality is solid but the software and sensor still have a lot of improving although remeber mine had a defect from the start with the display.

Great customer service!!
5.0 out of 5 stars Game-Changer for Nighttime Precision – Crystal Clear at Insane Distances! I’ve been hunting and running tactical drills for years, and attaching this thermal camera to my Picatinny rail has elevated everything to a whole new level. The setup is a breeze – it locks in securely without any wobble, and it’s rugged enough to handle the recoil and rough terrain without missing a beat. But let’s talk about the real magic: the image detail. I spotted a deer clear as day across an entire acre in pitch-black conditions, picking out every antler tine and subtle movement like it was broad daylight. The clarity and resolution blow away anything else I’ve tried – it’s like having superhuman vision dialed up to 11. What truly sets this apart, though, is the team behind it. From the moment I ordered, their communication was spot-on: quick responses to my questions, helpful setup tips, and just an all-around professional vibe that makes you feel like a VIP. They’re not just selling gear; they’re invested in your success. And while this unit has been flawless out of the box, it’s reassuring knowing their support is lightning-fast if you ever need a tweak – they’ve got your back 100%. If you’re serious about low-light performance, don’t hesitate. This is the one. Six stars if Amazon allowed it! Highly recommend.

Doesn’t work
Not happy at all. I was the first time I powered it on. Second time there is no back light anymore. The unit just clicks. I literally just got it today.

With Proper expectations, in the right role, t's pretty good
I've had this for two days, mounted and zerod it on a 45lc lever gun, fired 18 rnds, cowboy loads, pulled the scope off in the middle and remounted it, seemed to hold zero. The resolution isn't great, but the thermal diversity is better than my tnc225, which I would expect being an 18k sensor vs the 22 in the thermnight, but the thermnight has a better resolution. It seems to respond quickly to changes, I mounted it to the side of the tnc225 so i could watch them in real time. For scanning this scope is pretty nice, it's 1x gives a great field of view and can be zoomed into 5x. I easily picked up deer in my yard at 140yds, also picked up a power transformer at 220yds. While blobby at 143yds there was enough thermal diversity I would have been comfortable taking a shot at the vitals of a deer through tall grass. It does not have any video or picture capture capabilities, it only has a single zero, and only a 19mm lens with no focus but for $400 I think this will work well for short range, Sub 60yds, evening or night pig hunting. I purchased this for close range, rapid deployment and it's seems like it will work

Good for hunting
It’s good scope but the little screws don’t hold very well
