Great movie

There isn't really much that hasn't already been said a thousand times about this gem of a film. It really is fantastic from beginning to end. The film is basically about a driver (Gosling) who gets mixed up in a dangerous situation. He is dragged into this situation because he seems to have fallen in love with Irene (Mulligan) and therefore wants to keep her and her child safe. This leads to Gosling having to carry out a job. However, certain complications arise and the story really begins to take off. There are many scenes in this film that are silent, yet they are so beautifully shot by Refn that they almost appear to be images taken straight from a canvas painting. Be warned that there is actually very little driving in this film, despite the fact that it is about a stunt driver. It is very much plot based and a rather simple plot at that. There are also scenes of what some may consider to be gratuitous violence. I however felt that the scenes of violence stressed the lengths people will go to when trying to gain or protect certain things. Throughout the film I was also blown away by the soundtrack. It really flows well with the film and I also own a copy of it. The Blu-Ray transfer is of great quality and the sound seemd good to me. My hearing is rather poor so I would have had issues if the sound had not been spot on. Overall I would certainly recommend this film and it would certainly be in my top five films of 2011. It has a fantastic cast and Refn directed the film perfectly. It really is a modern piece of art on screen. I'm beyond shocked that Gosling and Refn weren't even nominated for an Oscar as both deserved at least a nomination.

Un des meilleurs films de 2011 sans conteste ! Une incroyable séquence d'ouverture pleine de maestria qui donne immédiatement le ton du film et qui fait penser à du Michael Mann suivie par le générique avec l'excellente chanson de kavinsky "Nightcall". Et on se dit que ça va être bon ! Et effectivement, pour moi ce film est un chef-d'oeuvre entre histoire d'amour, film intimiste, polar, thriller avec des explosions de violence très dures. Mais pour moi c'est avant tout une magnifique histoire d'amour qui finira mal évidemment. L'histoire est classique mais forte. Le personnage joué par Ryan Gosling comme le dit une des chansons du film est un "vrai héros". Il va vers son destin qu'il sait fatal mais il n'a qu'une idée en tête : protéger la vie de la femme qu'il aime même si pour cela il doit sacrifier sa propre vie. Le tout est filmé avec classe et précision. Rien à jeter. Chaque scène, chaque plan est parfait. Ryan Gosling est magnétique. Il hyptonise l'écran. Il a une présence incroyable dans tous les plans où il apparaît. Il a peu de dialogues mais toutes ses émotions passent dans ses gestes, ses attitudes, ses regards... Personnellement, je n'oublierai jamais la scène de l'ascenseur où il passe de la douceur, de la tendresse, de l'expression de l'amour avec un baiser de cinéma magnifique, peut-être un des plus beaux que j'ai jamais vu à la plus effroyable sauvagerie. Quel visage et quel regard après cet acte bestial où il scelle son destin. Il a dit adieu à sa belle pour toujours après ce baiser et avant cet acte irréparable. La porte de l'ascenseur se referme. Maintenant, il va faire le ménage et ça va faire mal ! Vraiment ce film est une claque pour moi et après Bronson et Valhalla Rising, Nicolas Winding Refn prouve qu'il est un des meilleurs réalisateurs actuels.

Lo principal que hay que destacar con esta edición, además de la gran calidad de video y audio, es que la imagen está completa a diferencia de la edición nacional (en México) donde cortaron (o "cropearon") la imagen para encaje en el "widescreen" convencional (lo cual me parece un insulto al trabajo que le dieron a la foto y color de la película)... sin contar que no trae extras... que decir también que no trae tantos extras esta edición de importación -pero trae un pequeño detrás de cámaras algo ilustrativo que ya es bastante en comparación- y tampoco cuenta con doblaje (por si tienen la duda). Con respecto al envío llego en buenas condiciones y bastante rápido
