A great camera with expensive features for less!
A great security camera. Some of the standout features: super easy setup. Low lag and small size, easy to use and a feature I wasn’t even aware it had, when it detects movement it can track the subject automatically! It also has a private mode that you can automate when you arrive home and disable when you leave using a geofence. This physically positions the camera lens straight down that shows the folks in the room it’s disabled. Leave the house and it’s back up and patrolling. Very cool tech with high res 4k. Excellent value for the money!

Best cameras I've ever had for the money
These things are really great for what you're paying. I've been running 6 of them for about a year now. They pan/tilt and have ONVIF support so you can use them on NVRs that support it. Two of them I have set up to receive ONVIF commands from home assistant so they can pan and tilt on a schedule. While this is all going on, I still get the notifications on my phone and can watch remotely while I'm away. The downsides: They're wifi, so you have to have a strong 2.4ghz signal and that might not work for you. The built in "patrol" function isn't great because it doesn't let you limit the range of motion and timing. I use ONVIF commands to drive mine between presets on a schedule. Works perfectly. The app isn't very good for speaking from them. The speaker and mic are great, but the app just loves to disconnect from the calls.

Tapo has a good ecosystem of camera and its App. This one also fits well.
It works with no issues and seems to have good-quality images but is not 4K as I expected compared to 4K on a video from an iPhone. Its size is a little larger compared to other indoor cameras from Tapo, but it operates smoothly and quietly.

Tapo C260 ... GREAT unit!
I've purchased 4 of the Tapo C260s over the last 5 weeks. All have been integrated into a Blue Iris surveillance system. What blows me away with these cameras is the tracking. It is miles ahead of the competition ... easily crushes the competition in the sub $ 100 range. Even though it doesn't have and ethernet port, I've actually had zero problems with dropped connections. Doesn't miss a beat, just smoothly tracks my cats and people with a great 4K image! While I prefer the Reolink software (if you aren't using something like Blue Iris), this has quickly become my favorite security cam for the year. Things that could be improved: More flexibility in assigning / changing the Access Point (you can, but only if you reset the unit (?!). I'm not a huge fan of the mysterious "camera account". But all in all, this is an awesome camera and highly recommended.

Excellent 4K Camera with Smooth Setup — Mounting Design Could Be Better
The Tapo 4K Pan/Tilt Camera delivers impressive image clarity, accurate motion tracking, and a seamless setup experience. It connected quickly to Wi-Fi and the Tapo app recognized it right away, letting me monitor live 4K video within minutes. Motion detection is responsive, and night vision produces sharp detail with realistic contrast. It integrates cleanly with Alexa and Google Assistant for voice-controlled viewing. My only complaint is aesthetic and mounting-related. I wish it came in black instead of only white — I used a black Sharpie to blend it with my dark garage ceiling, and you truly can’t tell the difference from below. The mounting bracket design works, but it looks awkward when attached to a ceiling. Tapo should include two separate mounts — one for wall use and one for ceiling installation — to make placement more professional. ✅ Pros • Crisp 4K video quality with smooth pan & tilt • Quick and simple setup via Tapo app • Excellent motion tracking and night vision • Supports both SD and cloud storage • Smart-home integration with Alexa and Google Assistant ⚠️ Cons • Only offered in white (color options would help) • Mounting bracket looks awkward on a ceiling 🟩 Verdict A superb indoor security camera for the price — offering premium 4K clarity and smart features without complicated setup. If Tapo adds a black version and a dual-mount option, it would be near perfect.

Worth what little they charge
I have tried pretty much all of the mass produced cameras (Tapo, wyze, euffy, l view) and at this point tapo is the best value for money for ease of use. You can get something from hkvision or the like that is significantly better optics but it's a bit more expensive it's a bit different and it requires another app... If I were in such a location that I needed 50x optical zoom I would look elsewhere but for basic is there someone in the garage is there a raccoon did someone come home Tapo works. The 4K versions are lovely but you will always be relatively limited in terms of distance clearly covered unless you pay significantly more for things with massive optical zooms for the price this is unbeatable you don't need 4K in the house, and the 3k 5mp is ridiculously cheap. It says something about life that the 256G hard actually cost more than the 3K camera.

Amazing functions for a security camera
Amazing indoor camera. I got this to check on my mom that lives with us. She has dementia and I take a walk around the neighborhood when she is taking her afternoon nap. I can view the camera while I am out. The microphone on the camera is amazing. I can hear the TV out in the living room when it is on. I can also talk from my cell phone to her over the camera if I need to. This has been a life saver for me. I wouldn't be able to leave the house without this security camera. All of the features of this camera were beyond what I thought I would get. I would highly recommend this security camera to others. Great value for all of the functions it has.

Superb quality in both hardware and software
I tried many smart devices. Tapo is the way to go. I'm a software engineer and I've been very frustrated with the smart devices and their software lately. "Tapo" is an exception, they make it seem effortless but their software and hardware is incredibly reliable. It's so good in fact that it scares me that one day they might deteriorate. Please keep true to your values and never change. Nobody wants crappy software with AI shoved slop. I need quality and reliability. This company has the right balance and for that I'm grateful. I now have their lock in my front door and they 4k cameras all around my home. Never been happier with a smart product. They even allow you to go custom. If you're a power user and want to setup your own video camera surveillance server, these cameras will also allow you to do that. I love it when technology serves the customer rather than trying to scam you on each corner. If I had to pick one negative, it would be the sometimes over aggressive advertising if the cloud service. I know it's a big part of their revenue but would be nice to never see it pop up again after dismissing once. I won't deduct a star though since it's relatively out of the way compared to other similar products.
