Great quality & fits Smittybilt winch perfect
This cradle is very sturdy and easy to assemble. I bought it to mount to the front Curt receiver on my 2014 Ram 1500. Unfortunately I had to add a 7” receiver extension to allow clearance because the handles of the cradle hit the bumper. I have yet to put it to a heavy winch job, but it should withstand winter ditch retrievals. Overall a great high quality product and a great product. Came within a few days of ordering it. I highly recommend.

Smittybilt winch cradle gives you peace of mind and options.
Nice product. If you don't want to permanently mount a winch to your vehicle this is just the ticket. I use mine for hauling dead cars onto my car hauler. I had a 2" receiver mounted on my trailer., which gives me the ability to quickly attach or detach my winch when needed. My main logic was why give a thief something to steal. I can remove it and store it safely from the elements of both weather and sticky fingers. I can also move it to other vehicles using their 2" receivers and just a pair of jumper cables.

Saved me from an expensive tow
I had this Smittybilt winch cradle on the front of my Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins Diesel, plugged into the front-receiver hitch of my Ranch Hand bumper. Heavy truck (7300lbs at last weigh-in). This cradle stood up to about 8 hours of intermittent winching, up-hill, through the woods in the mud using a Smittybilt 10k lb winch. The cradle was a little cockeyed at the end of the recovery (and that is my fault for winching at too aggressive an angle---but its still holding solid. Great item, and love the versatility. Buy some quality heavy gauge cable and quick connects and use this front or rear if you end up in a jam. I wish I did!

Great product and fairly easy to install your winch
Great product and fairly easy to install your winch. Fit my 12k Smittybilt perfectly. Remember to wire the winch completely before installing and run your winch cable through the slot in the cradle and fair lead before tightening everything down. Easiest way to bolt winch in was to put the cradle in the receiver hitch and line it up and tighten from below. Only gripe here is it took a week and a half to get to me when everything else was there in 2 days.

Allows Stability and Portability
The item was very well-made it has a great heavy finish and harden steel bolts, easy to assemble, strong, sturdy and very well-made. Allows for stability and portability from Truck to Tractor to Trailer. Best to connect all cables before mounting the winch.

Well built product
Need to rethink bolt placement. Or make it 1/4 wider. Have an engineer put a winch on it, he will understand.

Craftsmanship not good. Crooked welds. Sloppy in receiver.
It is sturdy and has thick materials I’ll give it that but the quality of welding is not so good. Meaning mine is welded really crooked so your winch sits diagonal and looks stupid. The part you slide into your hitch does not fit tightly and is VERY sloppy inside the receiver and the reason I think mostly is because 2 of the 4 corners are rounded and the other 2 are square so it kinda rolls. If you have a 12k Badlands Apex the holes on mine DID NOT match up despite other reviews I read, but weren’t quite off enough to drill a whole new hole so I had to make really large holes and get washers. All in all I wasn’t happy with this purchase, and wouldn’t recommend to others.
