Q: Would these be compatible with composting in a Worm Farm?

Our pods are certified for commercial composting. There is currently no North American standard or certification for backyard or vermicomposting (worm). However, that hasn’t stopped some of our customers from composting themselves and worms love coffee and help expedite the composting process! Q: are these individually wrapped?

Yes & No! I bought a 30 pack of organic Colombian Medium Roast, and they were NOT individually wrapped. Inside of the box of 30 were two foil type packages of 15 pods. BUT sadly the 70 pack of French Dark Roast arrived as a big box of individually plastic wrapped pods...so much for being a greener, plastic-free option to the k-cups. The coffee was great but my heart hurts from the plastic.

Q: Is the silver bag the pods come in also 100% compostable?

Thank you for your question We have different freshness bag formats across different pack sizes and brands. This particular reusable foil freshness bag is similar to coffee bags used today for ground and whole bean coffee. We are working hard to make our freshness bags compostable too, just like our pods. Until our new compostable materials are available, this freshness bag is the best type of oxygen barrier to maintain coffee quality, freshness and aroma.
