Love this product. Good red color, that you may need a lot of it. I used for cookies and appreciate plant-based alternative to Red dye number 5. No taste difference. Looking forward to trying other colors.

Great plant-derived food coloring
I absolutely love these food colorings. This one is tasteless and makes a beautiful red color without a lot of powder, yet plant derived, so you don't have to worry about all of the petroleum byproducts in your food.

good quality
nice color quality but not true red. However, it mixes well in royal icing, doesn't fade. VEGAN is very important

No red40
This red coloring is made from beet root powder, so it’s free from artificial dyes — perfect if you’re looking for a cleaner, more natural option in recipes.

It doesn't work
I attempted to make a red velvet cake twice. I used the whole jar and the cake still turned out chocolate colored. I used a quarter cup of cocoa the first time, the second attempt I used two tablespoons of cocoa and the cake still turned out brown.

Good quality, not good for frostings
I loved the idea of this being a powdered, non-chemical food dye. I however was disappointed in the fact that it didn't mix well for the use I bought it for, leaving small specks in the frosting I made, even after mixing in for awhile and leaving over night.

Color
You will probably have to use more than you want to to get a really deep red color.

For dog and cats treats
I’m using this to make my dog and cat treats. It shows the color very well and tastes like beets. My dogs and cats love the flavor and I would love to purchase different color to try out!
