Maestri House Cold Brew Coffee Maker, 40oz Iced Tea and Coffee Maker Brewer Space Saving Tritan Pitcher, 350 Mesh Filter, 100% Leak-Proof

I don't write a lot of reviews, but I felt like this product deserved one. This is an excellent cold brew maker. It is very easy to use and has a great 1,200 mL capacity. The plastic construction is more versatile (less fragile) than other brewers made from glass. The filtration system eliminates the sludge that other brew systems leave. The packaging is very thoughtful - a scoop and sponge are included. The scoop is easily overlooked, but it is the perfect size to clean the used grounds out of the filter. The sponge is an unexpectedly useful form factor to help with cleaning. Hopefully the sponges can be ordered separately, since sponges don't last forever. Some minor downsides: Cleaning is moderately easy, but the only component that is recommended for the dishwasher is the pitcher (which is also easiest to clean by hand). All of the other elements are recommended for hand washing, which doesn't take long. The way the filter is configured, the pitcher will work most effectively if stored (at least for part of the brew cycle) on its side. However, there is a vent in the lid that is prone to leaking when the pitcher is stored on its side. Brewing upright can lead to the top grounds not getting exposed to water. Unfortunately, one of the pieces broke during routine use after a couple of months: the pitcher lid is attached with a couple of hinges that snap the lid into place on the pitcher. One of the hinge attachments broke. I contacted customer service and a replacement pitcher arrived four days later. I'd recommend being careful with these hinge attachments as they seem prone to break. At the same time, the customer service is very responsive and suggests that they take support of their products seriously.

I've tried making cold brew a couple different ways, most recently with Ball jars and a metal filter. This Maestri brewer does a better job than other methods I've tried. No coffee ground sludge in the bottom, easy to clean grounds out of the filter, and easy to pour liquid out of the pitcher without removing the filter / grounds. The brew is pretty strong and tastes great. I have found that sometimes air gets trapped in the pitcher when I'm filling it, and that can effect the brewing slightly. When this happens, the coffee grounds don't seem to get fully saturated right away, so the brewing time takes longer. 24 hours of brew time seems to be the sweet spot for my taste preference, which is strong.

This cold brew maker is easy to use and does the job well. I get smooth coffee every time without bitterness. The size is good and fits in my fridge without taking much space. The filter works well and keeps most of the grounds out of the coffee. Cleaning is simple and does not take much time. The build feels solid for daily use. I like that I can control how strong the coffee is by changing the water and coffee ratio. One thing to know is that you need coarse ground coffee for best results. (I use Bizzy coffee) Letting it steep longer makes the flavor better. It is not insulated, so you should keep it in the fridge while brewing.

Went from a 5 Star to a 1 star in just 4 uses. Does perfect making great cold brew; however, plastic clips are weak and snapped on the 5th use. Unfortunately, can’t use now because the top will not secure. Very disappointed. UPDATE: Was sent a replacement free of charge, outstanding customer service. Curious to see if the problem re-occurs.

When I first looked into buying a cold brew maker, I really liked the style and when I had received it, it was really easy to use. Within three months, I had to replace the filter as the meshing started to break away from the plastic; and within five months, one of the ceiling mechanism parts broke. I was able to get a replacement filter, but the other piece that broke, there’s no replacement part for me to purchase. Knowing this, I wouldn’t purchase it again. Total bummer. UPDATE: I needed to include an update because the company reached out to me directly in order to find out which pieces of the product were inferior. They were so easy to work with that. I had to update my review star rating for the product. . I updated them from a three star to a five star due to their willingness to rectify their product with me as a consumer.

Well built, solid feel and no leaks in the fridge. I was hesitant when the directions said to brew in a horizontal position, but the seals are right and there's no leakage. It may seem like your using a lot of grounds but after doing the math I figured it was costing me around $1.50-$1.70 for a 16 oz. cold brew that tastes just as good or better than well... you know who. Set it up in the afternoon and the next morning get ready for the goodness.

I love this little coffee brewer. It's so great to be able to make cold lattes, put some ice in my thermos and a way I go. No loose coffee grounds. Couldn't be easier. And, if you make a pretty full pitcher, you can always use some for the next days beverage.

Very nice and easy to use at home cold brew maker! We love it! Build quality was excellent and it seals up well with no leaks. We have to lay it on it's side because we have an old fridge but it's never leaked out like I feared when we first tried it. Coffee always comes out at a great temp and with an amazing taste. Highly recommend this for at home baristas!

I bought this to make a cold coffee drink made with milk and a caramel flavouring. I used to buy ready made milk based coffee drinks from the supermarket and whilst they were nice I was worried about the amount of sugar in them so looked in to making an equivalent drink but without the sugar. Another problem with the bought drinks was the caffeine in them which if I drank a couple of glasses during the evening I struggled to get to sleep afterwards. This item looked ideal as it had a decent capacity, came with a measuring scoop and cleaning sponge, looked good and would sit in a space in the door of my fridge. So to use it I normally add 4 scoops of ground decaffeinated coffee to the infuser section, put in 8 shots of sugar free caramel syrup (Monin brand) to the jug then fill up to the top mark with semi-skimmed milk. The top is then clipped into place and the infuser section lowered in and turned to lock, screw on the lid and place in the fridge to allow the coffee to infuse. I find this makes a cold coffee drink that is easily comparable with the shop bought ones but without the added sugar and decaffeinated to suit. The item is also very easy to clean once you've finished drinking the contents upon which you will be wanting to make more.
