human molecular genetics book
I already knew this book since my human genetics exam at the University. I used to study on the 2nd edition. I did not like it very much because it was a bit confusing with a lot of info spread in the various chapters of the book. You could not study on it without an help of the teacher..This edition is much better!! Clearer and better organized !!!I am studying now on it and I found it really pleasant..Really a good deal and worth it for the price.

Fabulous
I am a geneticist and an undergraduate level professor. I absolutely love this book. It is so clearly written, up to date and full of references, so it feels more like a review (which I hope more science undergrad texts would do). It also contains great examples and illustrations that make it easy to follow the content. I don't think I would be able to use this book for my sophomore genetics class, but this would be an excellent addition to anyone taking an advanced molecular genetics class or related courses in grad school.

confusing book
I've found this book quite confusing when it comes to explain association studies quantitative genetics and all sort of stuff required to map a gene or a susceptibility factor for the rest it's ok but i won't advise to take it,maybe i am not an expert ok but the book makes to much anticipation or quotation of a concept and never explains it completely sometimes...

As expected
New and good.

rarely have I actually opened a text book
Rarely do I make use of a textbook (what do professors think Google is for?), but this book is phenomenally written. It's both informative and an easy read. If anyone is looking for a human genetics text (anything post intro genetics level), I highly recommend this book.

Excellent molecular genetics bible
This is the absolute reference book for anyone who wants to get an in depth but at the same time accessible textbook on molecular genetics, whether one is from a biological or medical background.

nice upper-division text
A nice, good-sized textbook covering genetics and genomics. Information seems recent.

Absulut empfehlenswert
Wer "Molecular Biology of the Cell" von Bruce Albert kennt, kennt bereits den Verlag Garland Science.

For the NON student/prfessional
For someone studying Human Genetics I am sure this is a fantastic resource, for me however I have not studied genetics for 6 years and have never studied human genetics before, I planned to read this from cover to cover. Sadly I find it a little too in depth and too wordy making it boring to read. If like me you are someone trying to return to genetics, enter a different field of genetics, or have a personal interest in human genetics then I would recommend Human Genetics by Anne Gardner and T Davies over this, it covers a lot of the same stuff but shaves off a bit of the perhaps less necessary details and is more condensed making it easier to read. I do however very occasionally use the human molecular genetics book to expand on things I have read in the mentioned book.

This book is about Human Genetics, follows HMG3 and HMG2 before that.
Got it for a student. Its about 5 or 6 years old now; tends to get into a bit too much detail; earlier editions were better for students of the basics. A lot of the techniques that you can spend a lot of time on learning are out of date. But a good book for $55.00. Doesn't go into reams of plant genetics, but sticks to humans, human diseases, etc.

This book is great. Bought it for the Genomic Medicine MSc
This book is great. Bought it for the Genomic Medicine MSc, but actually as a Clinical Genetics trainee- it is pretty essential. Really useful for getting to grips with the basic science bits of EVERYTHING genetics related- especially processes that underpin research methodologies like functional studies, linkage studies, autozygosity mapping etc.
