Unofficial Harry Potter Cookbook: From Muggles To Magic

I was disappointed with this book. There are a few recipes that look good, like butterscotch bars, butterbeer cupcakes, and pumpkin bread. But, there are a lot of silly recipes like ants on a log (celery with peanut butter and raisins), chocolate bananas (bananas drizzled with chocolate and topped with different candies), and licorice wands (licorice dipped in chocolate and cookie crumbs). A lot of the recipes aren't even harry potter related as far as i know. You could probably just google some of these recipes and other items from harry potter (like butterbeer) and get a good recipe without spending any money.

I haven't had the chance to put this to use yet, and make anything from it, but my friends and I plan to do so in the near future.

I've tried several of the recipes, everyone loves it. Easy to follow recipes and everything relates to Harry Potter and the other characters.

This is a book which I have bought and am going to end up returning as it is so bad.Firstly a lot of the recipes have nothing to do with Harry Potter at all such as lasagna or wiggle worm pudding.There are a couple of nice recipes in there but they have ingredients which can only be bought in the USA such as canned pumpkin puree or specific brands of biscuits.Even if you do manage to find a recipe which you both want to make and can find all of the ingredients for the book are in American measurements with no conversion guide to either translate into pounds and ounces or grammes. Yes you can find guides online to convert measurements but it is a load of hassle.Add to that the "fun facts" about Britain such as yorkshire pudding is originally a dessert (where did she get that from?) and the fact that the book has mis-spellings (Hermoime instead of Hermoine in one of the recipe titles) and it is truly awful and a complete waste of money.

I bought this as an avid fan of Harry Potter, wanting to create a feast of things like pumpkin pasties, cauldron cakes, firewhiskey etc. But all I found here were regular recipes, rather dull recipes if you ask me, given Potter-esque names. I feel both unimpressed and let down, and feel like some of the praise given to the author may not be quite due. Sorry, would not recommend xxx

Wer glaubt, dies sei ein Buch(ca. 0, 5 cm dick), den muss ich enttäuschen. Im Vergleich zu The Unofficiale von Dinah Bucholz ist dies eher eine dickere Broschüre. Das Cover ist nicht besonders schön und einfach nur billig. An Rezepten ist mir persönlich für diesen Preis einfach zu wenig drin. Ich würde es nicht mehr kaufen.

Looks like some one just printed out random recipes out and put them in a book I thought it would of been nicer if the pictures that are in this book were in colour

Solo pensé que el interior era de más calidad viene blanco y negro hojas delgadas y casi sin ilustraciones algo sencillo para mi gusto.
