The perfect mid-workout snack!
This is the perfect mid-workout snack. The chews are gummy but don’t stick to your teeth like Halloween candy. They come in great flavors... every one in the variety pack has been tasty and not off-putting with its flavor. The nutritional boost is noticeable during workouts, especially on long runs or during a Spartan races. Honestly, I think these were the reason I made it through my last 12 mile race. They’re easy to carry, quick to eat, and don’t melt in your bag. The flavors are amazing, the quality is great. I would highly recommend this as a mid-workout snack for anyone.

A fun treat to help fuel your cardio!
Clif Bloks are an overall good package. They provide race fuel, are small and portable, come in a variety of pretty good flavors, and this bundle especially lets you see the difference from their standard vs. salted vs. caffeinated options. Personally, I like the boost I get from the black cherry flavor, which has 100 mg caffeine/pack (a little more than a cup of coffee). When testing these, I had one blok about 20 minutes before my run and then rewarded myself with a blok after every mile, which fits the dosing guidelines (1 pack of 6 bloks around every hour). I feel like my energy levels stayed stable throughout, but I did notice some drawbacks.During my runs, the blocks got warmer and heated up in my pocket. They didn't really become sticky, but they became increasingly melty. If I wasn’t huffing and puffing this would be fine. but it made these hard to chew and swallow during a run. Something like sour patch kids probably would have held up a little better since they start out tougher.Since I couldn’t chew them, this led to me letting them dissolve in my mouth. The problem with this is that the flavors are good, but not great. They aren’t going to make you gag or anything, but you can tell the focus was on fuel not flavor, and it’s not exactly a flavor you want to have stewing in your mouth for several minutes at a time. Since these are essentially sugar jelly cubes, I also worry I might be hurting my teeth. The last and IMO biggest drawback is how it changed my spit from neutral to cloyingly sweet. Having so much sugar in my mouth without water made me very thirsty, and I had to stop around every 2 miles for water. In their fairness, the instructions say to take with water, but I feel like these bloks amplified my thirst more than if I just ran without them.Despite these drawbacks, I really enjoy these and will continue to use them. They’re good at keeping me alert and with enough calories/energy to run. Psychologically, it’s so nice to celebrate every mile with a treat. And with the caffeinated/salted versions, I really enjoy their respective boosts.I would highly recommend this variety pack to get a grasp on what these are like, and to see what flavors strike your fancy. I’ll probably buy more of the black cherry and salted watermelon.

Great for Endurance Sports
These are a great for an energy boost during endurance excercise. I've eaten many while training for a triathlon. When I'm in the middle of a workout I'm not worried about the flavor, but they taste good. I like that there are different salt levels so I can tailor my intake to the weather conditions and how much I'll be sweating. They are nice and compact so I can fit a couple in my bike bag or fanny pack and still have room for my other items. I recommend them to anyone serious about endurance sports and looking for an easy and effective boost mid-workout.

Ready for the gym
All fueled up and ready to go. These offered a little bit of energy to set out for the gym. It was a good tasting gummy that sometimes stuck to your teeth. However, I was able to obtain energy quickly and some electrolytes. Overall, very pleased.

Stick to your teeth
These taste fine but are really hard to consume mid-run because they stick to your teeth. I don’t carry water on my runs, and a sip of water might help these go down.

Yummy, convenient during your workout.
The texture of these gummies is pretty great. They are essentially really delicious gummy candy with varying degrees of salt, like a solidified electrolyte drink. This means to get the same effect you will need to also drink some water. I will say that I find these gummies more pleasurable than, say, a Gatorade, even if I need to drink water with it. This is good to take with you on extended walks, runs, or bike rides.

Fun snack, but keep out of reach of children!
These are an interesting combination of an energy bar and gummies that give you that extra boost when exercising. The packet recommends that you eat 1 whole packet (2 servings) every hour during activity, but eating more than one during an entire half day seems like it would be a bit excessive. At first, I was skeptical about the concept because I didn't associate gummies with work out recovery, but I quickly became a convert. The black cherry flavor with added caffeine was my favorite in terms of flavor and effect on my energy post work out. The flavor and texture is addictive, but it could be the caffeine talking. However, the positive attributes that make this a great snack also makes it delicious for kids as well. The caffeine and other recovery additives make this unsuitable for children, so I have to eat them out of sight of my daughter and keep the box hidden on the top shelf in the back of the pantry.
