Super product
Wonderful batting material. Birds love it and have been picking at it all summer. It’s down to half of the quantity, and I’ll get more to hang earlier next year, now that I know about it.

Birds loved it
The birds loved this and it was all used up very quickly during mid summer. Hummingbirds and goldfinches are who I saw using it the most. Easy to buy refills. Very fun to watch them gather it up for nests.

The hummers like it. Great product.
I hung this on a single screw and flat against the wall under an eave. It's easy to tell if they are using it because the cotton get pulled out away from the panel. Bottom line is that the birds like it and are using it from hummer day one. Makes the location more attractive for the birds. Great addition to our hummer experience. Thanks

Nice amount of material that stays within the metal holder
Not sure if the hummers are using this for their nests so we don’t want to give it 5 stars. You do get a nice amount of material. When nesting season ends, we make sure it’s completely dry and then store it in a plastic bag until it’s needed the next year.

Perfect soft nest building material
I am still hoping the hummingbirds will use this. I’ve only seen one hummingbird take a little bit of this bedding. My hummingbird population this year is way down and I have a total of only like four hummingbirds this year instead of a mass of 20 or 30. Maybe if I had more, they would utilize this. I’ll wait until they migrate and then I’ll put it away until next year. I keep it dry and yet they have not used it. Why did you pick this product vs others?: i saw a video of mass hummingbirds getting bedding from it.

Questionable purchase for me
The material is not as I imagined. It doesn’t seem to be like any nest material I’ve ever seen. So far no birds have been interested in it. Made of medal but the top clasp is very weak & it opens too easily. I would not purchase this again.

Hopefully this will help keep them warm
I live in Southern Arizona, and we have year round hummingbirds. One day I was on my back porch and there was a blanket covering the base of my lawnmower and there was a hummingbird flying just above it plucking fibers from the blanket, my conclusion was for nesting material. During the winter nights I always worry about them getting to cold. So I starting looking into what I could do to help and looked at all the options and deciding this one was the best. I decided to attach it just above the feeded for 2 reasons: 1) First being so they could find it 2) And 2nd so they could get used to seeing it and identify it. Today was the 1st day it was up, and they were a little scared of something different I think, as they didn't spend hardly any time at the feeder. But I'm sure they will get used to it soon enough. I'll keep updating this review as the month goes on and hopefully with some pictures of them using it.

Hummingbird AND Goldfinch Helper
Bought this December last year and forgot to write a review. I wanted to put up in early spring and see if it would be used. I was confident it would be, we are in the PNW and have Anna's hummingbirds year-round. We have lots of them visit daily. We have a large rhododendron "tree" that is bird central for all species of birds. I hung it there in February. I put it out earlier than intended because Anna's hummingbird start breeding in December. It didn't take long before I had my first customer. A female Anna's (the females do all the nest building,) collected a chunk of cotton and flew off. Return and repeat over the course of many months. Starting in May, we've had tons of lesser goldfinch clinging to the side of the helper collecting big wads of cotton and flying off. So awesome. It definitely gets used! I'm sure other species have borrowed some material too. We have so MANY birds here. If you do too, I would definitely recommend this product. Hang near a sturdy tree or large sturdy shrub where you see the hummingbirds and other birds hang out. They will discover it in no time. If it happens to be near food stations, all the more convenient. I've seen both Anna's and a lesser goldfinch try to eat with cotton hanging out of their mouths! Multi-tasking? One last thing, if you get a heavy rain, you can easily hang in a garage or somewhere and the material will quickly dry out. I've had no issue with mildew or mold growth.

Also sent this to my Mother who has quite a few Humming Birds in the yard. Once I explained that the Humming Birds use the fluff from this cage to line their nests she was very happy to receive this for a Christmas present. Since she has everything that she needs inside, I have been sending her bird feeders, bee houses and bird nesting boxes. This makes her happy because she gardens and loves the outdoors.

It's wonderfully rewarding to see this being used by our hummingbirds. We know they're using it because our feeders have little tufts of fluff on them, and a few days ago I saw one of our flying jewels actually taking some of the cotton. A great addition to our garden.
