reat 4TB Drive for Backups and Gaming
I’ve been using the Seagate Portable 4TB External Hard Drive for a few weeks now and honestly it’s been exactly what I needed. Setup was super simple — literally plug it in and it works. No complicated software, no weird formatting issues. I’m using it mainly with my PC but I’ve also tested it on my PlayStation and it worked without any problems. The 4TB storage is a huge plus. I backed up my entire system image, stored a ton of video files, and still have plenty of space left. Transfer speeds over USB 3.0 are solid — not lightning fast like an SSD obviously, but for a traditional HDD it’s more than fast enough for backups, media storage, and games. It’s lightweight and small, which surprised me. I expected something bulkier for 4TB. It doesn’t get hot and it runs quietly. I just leave it connected most of the time. If you need reliable, large storage for backups, gaming, or just extra space, this is a great value for the price. No complaints so far. Would definitely buy again.

Great option for the price!
Pretty good hard driver. I enjoy playing games on my PC, so I need a lot of space. It is very small, super easy to carry around. I have used it for a while and have no complaints. It is a perfect option to save your data, such as family pictures and documents.

A Very Good Buy. Glad I was forced into it.
I was very happy with this purchase. Came fast and did what it was supposed to do. I bought it after purchasing another brand that came DOA (Dead On Arrival). This one worked great for backing up 2 of my computers. Still plenty of room for more. It was very simple to get up and running. Nothing to install, and seems to be very durable

High Quality - Plug and Use - A perfect alternative to the Cloud
This is my second Seagate Portable External Hard Drive. I bought one about two years ago for my consulting business and have been incredibly happy with it for all the reasons listed below. As a result, when I decided to purchase another Portable External Hard Drive to combine and replace several 8+ year old (much smaller capacity yet physically larger) Portable External Hard Drives I immediately went to the Seagate Brand. Over the years I noticed the Seagate Brand has gained wide name brand recognition in the field since I bought my first one. I like Portable External Hard Drives as opposed to the cloud because I believe they provides more security for my data. When I plan to be away from my home for an extended period, I simply unplug them and store them in my safe. Additionally, in my experience with my business Seagate Hard Drive I found them to be very sturdy/durable when it accidently gets knocked off the shelf it is laying on. I also liked that they offered me 3 data storage size choices (2TB, 4TB, 5TB) but for my needs the 2TB was all I needed. Finally, their small/compact size (physical) means they fit nicely bundled together lying next to my powered USB switched hub.

Seems to work great, initial file load works great
Not sure what to rate this because of another Seagate external hard drive we own. On the surface (initial use) it seems great. Easy to use, a good option for backing up files. However our older Seagate Drive has been unreliable. The initial files we saved on it are great--still accessible, "plug and play". However I tried to save a good deal of data to it a few years later and I can't find the data. It looked like it saved fine but ?? can't find it a few days later when I tried to access what I had saved. My best advice--use this to backup your data, but don't trust it alone. Use cloud storage as well (especially if there are files you CAN'T lose). 2 backups are better than one!

Huge external HDD great for backing up tons of data
It's a big external HD. It's big. It's external. It's a Hard Drive. Need a lot of space on one external drive? Then get this. I've only had it about a week, but it seems to work just fine. It makes no noise when not in use. It makes minor/minimal sounds when copying large amounts of data to it. It makes a noticeable brief buzzing sound when 'waking' from standby that only lasts 2-3 seconds. Did I say this was external? Did I say it has a high capacity? Did I say it is a hard drive? Oh, the design is black and stands on its side, and doesn't give off any noticeable heat. As for speed, beats me. Seemed normal speed. Reality is that any time you get a drive this large, the primary purpose is likely as a backup - or a backup to a backup, and the only time speed might matter in that case is the first time you're backing up a large amount of data. After that, I'm sure you'd never notice either way. I'm happy I bought it. I got it at price/GB that is impossible to beat. Would buy again - but won't need to any time soon, because it's big. (Did I mention that already?)

Clean Design, Solid Performance, Zero Hassle
Clean design and super practical. Perfect as a backup drive, fits nicely in my safe, and travels easily when needed. Transfer speeds are solid for daily use, and it works great as an extra drive on my desk. Came with all the cables I needed and shipping was quick.

Simple, high quality, long lasting
I purchased one of these several years ago, and was pleasantly surprised to find that they sent me a case of 8 brand new SSDs, kept a few, sold a couple at about a 60% discount from the online price, gave a couple away as gifts, and their lifespan has been impressive, they've all performed beautifully the whole time I've had them. Instant access to files with no complex processes to follow, although the stock cable could be longer.
