its a red car....
Wahoo! It’s-a me, Mario! And today, I’m not-a chasing Bowser or rescuing Princess Peach. Oh no, my friends. Today, I’m-a talking ‘bout speed. I’m-a talking ‘bout style. I’m-a talking ‘bout the beautiful red beast that is the LEGO Technic Ferrari SF-24 F1 Car — woohoo! When I-a saw this big red box sitting on my doorstep, my mustache twitched with excitement. 1,362 pieces? Mamma mia! That’s-a more parts than there are Goombas in World 1-1! So I rolled up my sleeves, grabbed a Fire Flower for extra energy, and jumped right into this building project fit for a champion.Let’s-a Start With the Box, Eh?First impression? Bellissimo! The box is sleek and stylish, just like a Ferrari should be. The car is front and center, glowing in that iconic red. You don’t even need to-a say the name — one look and you know: That’s Ferrari. It makes you wanna shout, “Let’s-a go!” before you even open it.Inside, the bags are numbered (thank goodness), and the instruction book? Oh boy, it’s-a thick like a pasta cookbook from my Nonna. But every page is laid out with precision — very clear, very helpful. Even if you’ve never-a built a Technic set before, this one-a makes you feel like a pit-crew pro.Building Time! Step by Step Like Climbing a FlagpoleThis build? It’s-a not for baby Toads. No, no. It’s-a for adults who like a challenge — and maybe a little bit of pain in the fingertips after snapping together so many tiny bits. But ohhh, the satisfaction!Right from the get-go, you start with the chassis, and let me tell you — this isn’t just some-a simple LEGO skeleton. This thing is solid, like Bowser’s shell. You can feel the engineering magic as it comes together. The suspension system is so clever, I half-expected it to bounce like Yoshi on a trampoline. Then you move on to the steering. Oh yes! This beauty turns left and right, just like my kart on Rainbow Road (but hopefully without-a flying off the edge). And then — mamma mia — you reach the heart of the beast…The V6 Engine & Gearbox – Power Like a Super Star! Now this is what-a makes me go wahoo! The LEGO Technic V6 engine is a marvel. Once you-a snap it into place, you can see the little pistons moving when the wheels spin. I nearly dropped my wrench in surprise. It’s-a like seeing magic, but it’s really just-a brilliant design. But wait! There’s more! This baby has a 2-speed gearbox. That’s right! Not just vroom, but vroom vroom! You can shift gears, and when you do, the internal mechanics change. That’s not just-a good LEGO — that’s-a fantastico LEGO.Even the MGU-H (that’s-a fancy part that helps with hybrid energy recovery) has a spinning mechanism. I don’t even know what it does in real life, but in LEGO? It spins. And that’s-a cool.Adjustable Spoiler – Just Like Luigi’s Ego!The adjustable rear spoiler is the cherry on top of this red Ferrari sundae. You can move it up and down, giving your car the aerodynamic advantage it needs to win the Mushroom Cup — or at least look incredible on your shelf. It’s not-a flimsy either. LEGO made sure it holds its shape and stays in place. You could-a hit it with a Red Shell and it’d still be sitting pretty.

Smooth, enjoyable build!
This is a great kit. After doing several Lego-alternative kits, it was nice to do another from the Swedish giant. Things that struck me (and were a delight):– Plastic used: Kits from alternative makers definitely require more effort to assemble, particularly when sliding a long rod through multiple bricks. Removing a mistaken rod or structure is inevitable, and *way* easier with Lego plastic.– Stickers: This kit is a sticker-fest, with 55 required for the final look. Lego stickers are just great... durable and adjustable if not placed perfectly. There are a lot of long-ish stickers in this kit, which can be tricky. I found that leaving about a 1/32" of plastic around each edge made placement easier... I ended up tacking one corner and then pulling the sticker taught to place the other edge, keeping an eye on that 1/32" border to keep them consistent and aligned. If they go down wrong, they can be lifted with something like an Olfa razor knife, raising a corner and then gently pulling them off... no damage seemed to occur (the adhesive is just perfect). The stickers also covered a great number of the holes in body panels, yielding a nice, clean look. Definitely a major part of the fun with this kit!– Tires: Huge and supple rubber. Decals are already printed on the rubber, leaving a great look. Center disks are also pre-painted and awesome.– Design: Just a lot of great forms coming together to create a beautiful, streamlined shape. Suspension is taught (and unusual in that the the springs/shocks are horizontal and incorporated into the body frame. Steering works and is fluid, but the steering yoke isn't very accessible in the end, so you'll see it turn when you move the wheels. Not many negatives to speak of... no missing parts that I could tell (a dozen small bits left over). The biggest negative might be the instructions, which are not always clear and often show parts already in place and not highlighted, which makes them easy to miss. This means you'll likely have to remove and adjust parts, but again the slippery plastic used makes this less of a pain than kits from other makers. The instructions are also kind of crazy in that an entire page might be used to show the placement of one small piece (see photo). And I guess the price might be high (of course), but I got a week of enjoyment so the cost per hour is not too bad. And it truly is a gorgeous build!Highly recommended!

Ferrari Formula 1 LEGO Set is a must have for anyone
If I’m being honest with you…I haven’t actually opened and assembled this yet BUT I have built the McLaren and Mercedes F1 cars. This one looks to be the same quality as those and they were a blast to build and look great on display. We went to Legoland Deutschland and they had the Ferrari on display in the shop and it looked fantastic. Actually looks faster than their car this year.

Lego Ferrari is a fantastic combo!
It’s Lego, F1 and Ferrari. What’s not to love? Been a Ferrari fan for over 30 years and bought this immediately after it was available. Probably the only Ferrari I’ll ever own! As always with Lego it was well made, easy to follow instructions and a great deal of fun for my 7y.o. Son and I to assemble.

Perfect!
Amazing! The box was intact and the shipping was ultra fast. Now I'm putting it together and it's a lot of fun, a bit bigger than I imagined it.
