Folkmanis Raven Hand Puppet

This is a larger raven puppet than we imagined and we absolutely love him! He’s as big as a real raven, with gorgeous, silky fur that resembles feathers, but is very soft and downy, like a baby bird’s fluff. You can make his wings flap by inserting hands into the wings. You can make his beak move from the inside, too. His beak and claws are made from black, leathery-looking material so he looks like an actual raven! We named him Mr. Raven. He is very wise and teaches us lots of fascinating information about the bird world!

When the box containing the Raven Puppet was opened it took a few seconds to realize it was a toy! This is a very realistic, beautifully made hand puppet. Its wings move also and can be lifted with sticks. The hand fits rather tightly but well enough to work the raven's bill . . . shiny black vinyl. He (she?) has bright beady lifelike eyes and will be your friend forever. While it doesn't squawk it looks as if it could do so at any moment. This is an excellent display of puppet maker's art which, in the right hands, will bring cheers to young and old audiences alike. Highly recommended.

This is a great puppet. My daughter(6) can play with it for hours. As a result she has since wanted to learn more about these fascinating birds that have been branded with an unjust stigma. Great quality. Not really sure how you are suppose to work the beak and wings at the same time. The wings are not capable of manipulation from inside the body (which is where your hand goes to work the beak. Instead, you have small pockets at the tips of the wings you can slide a hand into. The puppet is made in such a way that the wings have a way to grip. Really works as puppet or plush. This is a good sized puppet as well.

This Raven hand puppet is awesome! He is quite large, and looks very real. His fur is long and can be brushed. You are able to place your hand in with ease and work his beak. He has a place under each wing for your hand as well, to motion the wings up and down. He is allot of fun. I took him to my family cook-out and everyone loved him.

This Raven puppet is really, REALLY well made. Very large - nice feux-leather beak and feet. Maybe a little bit furrier than I would have preferred - but you can certainly re-deco him yourself. The ability to manipulate this puppet is very well-thought out. It can be done with one person, or one person wiring the wings if you want to make them work by yourself (there are two finger slots in each wing. Or by two people if you want to operate the head/beak and both wings at the same time. I was very impressed with this puppet!

Big bird, kinda shaggy but quite shiny, not realistic, but very life-like. hard for a big hand to work the beak, but with puppets, a little movement can mean a lot. Seems well designed and made.

What a great puppet! Much bigger than I'd anticipated. Wings have pockets that your hand/fingers can slip into easily and articulate flying. Bird is very furry but you can brush the fur down for better presentation. I used a fine mist of water, pretty much soaked the bird (he is still sulking), to bring out the highlights of the bird body during video shoot.

I purchased this for a friend, that always wish she could have a real - crow/raven. so when I saw this real like creature I felt it would make her happy - and it did. We are grandparents and she will have a good time playing and teaching her grandchildren about these smart and wonderful birds. Thank you Rose P. (N california)

This puppet was part of a DIY ventriloquist type of steampunk costume and attracted lots and lots of attention and admiration! Brilliant raven!

My favourite FOLKMANIS puppet hands down!! I have been collecting FOLKMANIS puppets as pieces of art for many years based upon how realistic, gorgeous and overall excellent quality they are. If you are someone who has a special connection or love of Crow's and Raven's you will absolutely adore this lovely lady! And yes, she is a she. For anyone new to FOLKMANIS products, the large full size puppets come with typically a Native American story inside the hang tag. I have always loved this extra feature. It's nice to have or is great to use as the story if using as a puppet. I was surprised at how large this Raven is. It's pretty close to being life size so was/is much larger than I was expecting. In fact it's larger than both of my dog's. The detailing is top notch as to be expected. The black faux fur fabric is quite unique. Besides being of extra high quality it's a different kind of "fluffy" giving a feathered feeling. The beak and feet are made from a realistic looking vinyl. The eyes have a dark purple around the irises to give a realistic feeling and look. For the puppeteer this would be a two handed puppet due to it's size. One hand can control the head, beak and main body. Both wings have area's for the finger's in the dual tips. ( I took a photo of this feature which will be the last picture I uploaded.) In closing, I absolutely love this Raven and is my favourite plushie art piece in my unique large collection. It is quite expensive but well worth it. I have FOLKMANIS puppets that are atleast 12 years old and not only have they held up perfectly over the year's they have survived many moves, flooding to my old dog getting ahold of one. If you know someone who adores crows or Raven's I would highly recommend this as a gift because it's sure to please no matter ones age. If you are a puppeteer you will also enjoy the beauty and functionality that is this wonderful creation. I always say that anything made by FOLKMANIS is a true piece of art!

Looks real, great puppet

Indubbiamente è un bel pupazzo, con un piumaggio di notevole effetto anche se non èproprio conforme a quello di un vero corvo. Becco e zampe sono realizzati in un composto sintetico similpelle, il che consente di intuire che si tratta di un pupazzo quando si è ad una distanza abbastanza ravvicinata, altrimenti si può essere tratti in inganno. I movimenti della testa e del becco sono gestibili dall'interno (consiglio di usare dito indice e medio per il becco), le ali purtroppo no e per questo do solo 4 stelle perché penso che con un piccolo accorgimento poteva essere dotato di un paio di tiranti interni che avrebbero permesso di far muovere le ali e rendere il personaggio più realistico, sto studiando di modificarlo personalmente ma ancora non l'ho fatto perché dovendolo scucire non vorrei finire per rovinare il piumaggio, quindi aspetto di essere più sicuro su come intervenire..
