Great phone system, priced right
My parents needed a new home phone, so I decided to get them one for Christmas. Reading reviews on Amazon has become sort of an addiction for me (jk), so I spent many many hours doing research into different technologies and price points. This system seemed to be perfect for their needs, and the majority of the reviewers were positive, so I pulled the trigger and clicked "add to cart". Boy, am I glad I did! This baby works like a charm! It has all the latest wireless technology from AT&T built into the handset, while the landline phone and base are loud and have nice large buttons for easy dialing. Voicemail and missed calls are also very easy to manage, unlike their previous home phone, which my folks were constantly begging me to help them with! The best part is, I set up the landline so my dad can use it, and set up the wireless handset in my mom's room where she can hear and see it. They ALWAYS used to have trouble finding the phone because one of them would leave it somewhere, initiating a horrible conflict that is now a thing of the past!LOVE THIS PHONE! Way to go, AT&T!

EXCELLENT PURCHASE!
Bought this AT&T system, because we had a previous AT&T that we were happy with for a long time until it just finally wore out. After the earlier system wore out, we replaced it with a Panasonic & were never happy with it. Finally, after several months, we could no longer stand the low volume, bad clarity on calls, & bad robo call blocking, etc on the Panasonic. Decided to go back to an AT&T system! ARE WE EVER GLAD THAT WE DID! Haven't received a robocall that rang through since we got these! The speaker volume & clarity is exceptional. We are very happy with our purchase! The only negative is the lack of speed dialing, but that isn't all that important.

Good Quality, Not Easy to Use
These were bought to replace an old Panasonic set. The ease of blocking spam call numbers was the big selling point for us. They work well, sound quality is very good, and the volume is loud enough for my nearly deaf wife to use. The only down-side is the menu system is not intuitive and takes more time to use just to review missed calls, and retrieve messages. Otherwise is does what it was made to do.

Nice set of phones with easy to read numbers
I purchased these for my mom. She really liked that the buttons were a little larger and the numbers are easy to read. The quality of her phone calls on this phone are crisp and clear. The handsets feel like a nice weight and not light and plastic like some others out there. She still likes to use the landline and this updated phone set is an improvement for sure.

Nice But Complex.
For reference, I’m 76 and that may influence my review. This phone has a 178 page user manual! I found it way too complicated to set up. All those “nice to have “ features equal ponderous complexity. The quality seems fine, packaging was fine although shipping time was long for some reason.

This machine kills landline robocalls dead
This machine kills robocalls. Several models are based on this SCB (Smart Call Blocking) component. SCB is the ONLY user-friendly and affordable home consumer solution that will block 100% of robocalls on a landline phone before your phone even rings. It sounds simple, really: callers hear a polite electronic message asking them to press # to be connected to you. Robocallers and people working in telemarketing call centers don't have keypads to do that. You can add anyone to a list of callers who will automatically be connected without having to hear the greeting and # request. Even better, SCB is not an extra cost subscription add-on or something that inflates the cost of the device. It just "comes with" and works! Excellent high quality sound, volume control, and range also apply.

THREE strikes for AT&T on THIS phone! (But I'm the one that's out!)
I didn't have much to spend on a phone but wanted something a little better than the rock bottom phones I've had that only lasted about 3 years without a lot of use and I felt optimistic buying something of a known brand but I'm currently on my second of these phones having exchanged the first because when on speaker phone the wireless unit kept breaking up and even cutting off but this second one isn't much better. Somehow I lost the box tho or I'd would have returned this as well!I like having the corded handset in case of a power outage or those cases when I can't find the wireless one! :-) The answering machine is easy to set up and use...I'm a bit of a cyber-idiot! :-)But all in all I'm surprised and disappointed with AT&T for cranking out these phones with such weak unreliable wireless handsets. It's possible I got two "lemons" but less likely than if I'd only tried one. :-(Update 6/20/15: I returned the second for a THIRD unit ONLY because my son had thrown away the box and I didn't think I could return it for a refund...what I'd do was wait for the replacement phone and pack the bad one up in the new box to return it. ANYWAY, this one did the same things...the cordless handset kept having more and more problems till all it would do was SOMETIMES let me complete a phone call on it. Other times it would cut us off...The caller ID aaand announcing from the base had long since quit working but my 30 days were up! So it wasn't just the cordless handset that is unreliable on this phone! Everything just keeps falling apart!SO, today this particular unit is roughly 6 months old. I woke up to my son trying to check the electrical connection for the cordless which has COMPLETELY given up the ghost. A replacement would cost $20! And given "our" track record together, I couldn't count on it to last any longer!I pay my bills by phone and it requires a touch tone phone, even navigating customer service! requires touch tone so I can't even call AT&T from the base phone which does NOT have touch tone. It is pulse dialing and while I followed the directions to change it to touch tone it also did not work.So all I can do now is make simple calls from the corded base.com answer calls as well. The cord is quite short so all I can do is sit on an ottoman by the phone base while on a call. Note: Nope, not even THAT! I just had a call come in that I answered at the base, corded handset and they still couldn't hear me. I thought it was JUST the CORDLESS handset, but it's the whole phone that's crashing on me! It was my son, he called back and we got a connection the second time, but how many callers will try again? And with the caller ID not working it's not like I can call them back!I live under the eaves of a forest preserve so no cell phone company gets reception enough to complete a call reliably. I'm lucky to get a text out of here in the summer! So I need a landline...I was amazed at all the "good" reviews until I read a comment posted on the Q&A section saying that his critical warning comments kept being taken down! All I can figure is that people review this phone when it's new, exciting (and WORKS!) and on their minds and don't bother to figure out how to change it when their phone goes bad on them a month or six later. There's no way I could have just "incidentally" gotten THREE lemons this time back to back to back unless the actual phone has some more consistent problems that just are taking enough time to crop up that we're just not hearing so much about them. And from what I read customer service is horrible unless you're just looking to buy a replacement part or handset. So even if I COULD call them I doubt they'd swap out my nonfunctional handset under the supposed warrantee. I guess us Amazon buyers especially are not having much joy when it comes to getting AT&T to honor any warrantee issues! So, three times this glitzy, multi-function, great IDEA phone has left me out in the woods with no phone to speak of.If you NEED a landline...Like to screen calls...Want the cordless handset...Ever make calls that require you to punch in extension numbers, or any numerical data (or even 1 for English!)...And you want this phone to last more than 6 months without problems, then stay away from THIS one!I'm remembering my old, cheap Unidens with fond respect after THIS! Two purchases from THEM lasted me 9 YEARS! I've ordered a Panasonic set because the price was ok and had better reviews than this....more five star ones anyway...if they don't work I'll come back with more encouragement to go with Uniden!
