These are great. Instead of washing the bucket out every other ...
We use an old litter bucket to keep food scraps in until we dump in the compost bin. These are great. Instead of washing the bucket out every other night, it just gets a quick rinse maybe once a week. The bags hold up really well, but break down as soon as they're added to the wet compost bin.

ABSOLUTELY BEST OPTION FOR YOUR GARBAGE
The bag is strong. Sometimes I take 2 days(family of 4) to bring the gargage out to the big waste can outside. And it holds nicely. Of course if you are a green concious person most likely your garbage will be food waste and you will recycle. So, most of the heavy, sharp end stuff will be in another container (like glass etc). For my family works these bags work great - I feel I am "helping" our planet with less waste and teaching my children that this is the right thing to do.

About as good as it gets
And when I say "as good as it gets," I mean that they are the best of a necessarily weak group of products. These style biodegradable bags are made from plant-based materials, and are subsequently much more prone to ripping than standard plastic bags. This is a necessary compromise so that they will be compostable, but it also makes them lack most of the qualities you would want from a good plastic bag, such as the ability to not rip and spill used coffee grounds everywhere. This brand seems to be about as strong as the more expensive bags, since they all have to be made of the same weak material (someone please correct me if I'm wrong about that). My city provides a curbside composting program, and these fit perfectly in receptacles like the EcoSafe Kitchen Buckets (which were provided by our composting program).

Don't bother - very flimsy
These bags tear easily and break down quickly. They begin to leak if they are not changed every other day. If you don't generate a lot of compostables, you will end up with a slimy, smelly compost pail. I double-bagged these until I finished the roll, then I ordered EcoSafe-6400 CP1617-6 Compostable Bag, Certified Compostable, 2.5-Gallon, Green (Pack of 90) , which is a far sturdier bag, while still meeting the City of Seattle requirements for curbside collected compostables.

I freeze them
I load up these bags with compost and keep them in the freezer until they're full. The bags don't freeze hard but the stuff inside does, so they're still usable when cold. They're tough enough that I've never had a spill but I've never put liquid in them, and I don't use them at room temp so I can't comment there. They work great for me and it's convenient to just throw the whole thing in the compost tumbler.

Love These Bags
A great alternative to plastic bags. I have several sizes and use them all the time. They are surprisingly sturdy. Not as sturdy as a plastic commercial bag, but with that expectation I handle them differently and they work fine. I don't mind making a small adjustment to not contribute to a plasticized world.

Dry your compost (haha) or expect it to leak
I see there is a bulk 3 box option that gets the price down, where I expect it, so that's something. I tried these instead of the ecosafe, because those have been discontinued and these are cheaper. I can't find anything smaller than 13 gal in stores, if they even have it. Anyways, it looks thicker and looks greener, but leaks moisture day one. I've been careful to not put too much moisture in the first place, so I can wait the week. Consequently my compost pail has to wait a day after rinse and dry. I'd have to do that if I didn't bother with bags, so these bags don't really save me anything. I kind of wish neighbors hadn't stolen the free pail from sanitation or I'd bought a pail more compatible with not using bags.

Works for my purposes
I wanted to reduce my plastic consumption without having to sacrifice too much convenience or go completely Old World... All I needed was bags for cleaning the cat boxes that would go directly into the large kitchen trash bin, and small bags to go in the bathroom waste bins for tissues n such. Fits the bill. I do wish they would explore more energy efficient crop options like bamboos and switchgrasses for the plant-based plastics, but every little step counts, I guess.
