I was looking for a magnifying glass lamp to use with my WorkSharp Professional Precision Adjust knife sharpening kit and chose this one after browsing all options. It's exactly what I wanted. It has a nice large crystal clear viewing lens that really lets me see the knife blade I'm working on up close, well illuminated and with great detail. It offers variable brightness levels, 5 colored light options and both a table top base and side of table vice clamp. Build quality is excellent, it's also a very good looking product aesthetically and the adjustable arms move and lock up very well. The USB plug and cord is very light and discreet and plenty long which I also really like. And there's also virtually nothing to assemble when you remove it from the packaging. Very happy with the functionality and ease of use of this magnifying lamp for such a fair price. There are several much more expensive options on Amazon, but this one is the best of both worlds, a high quality magnifying lamp that looks and works great for a fair, low price. I was not sure what to expect with this lamp, but I am really happy with it. The light and magnifier make it an excellent lamp for crafting. Very versatile and practical!

What I like about this light is that it has a heavy base and that it is not a clip on light. It feels sturdy and the light is positionable to make it work in different planes. The lights are bright enough and they can be adjusted. The only down side is that there is no cover for the magnifying lens. I just cover mine with a soft cotton cloth to keep the dust off of it. I like the fact that the power cord can be used as a regular plug or as a USB power cord. That is a nice feature to have. I am used to wearing a headpiece that has different diopters for my close up work. I thought I would try this to see if it could replace the head piece. For me, the electric one doesn't work as well, even though it does have the additioanl lighting. It moves too easily and doesn't allow me to get as close as I can with my headpiece. But it does work as stated, so I can use it for other things as well.

The weighted base didn't work for me but the included clamp works perfectly for my needs. I use this mag-lamp for watch repair and it works well. Many lighting options and levels. Good price.
