Colief Infant Drops | Lactase Enzyme Drops | Natural Colic Relief for Babies | Reduces Bloating, Wind and Crying | 7ml

My baby had all the classic signs of colic and I really would not wish a colicky baby on anyone- it is the the worst! We are exclusively breastfeeding and I do not like the idea of giving my newborn all kinds of random potions which include E numbers and other weird ingredients. Not to mention a lack of research into wether they actually work (infacol anyone?). Anyway I suspected that my baby's colic was down to a lactose intollerence because he was producing poohs that had a sandy consistency. He also had symptons of lactose overload (see google for more info). I had already tried block feeding and had eliminated dairy from my own diet. My older daughter has a mild lactose intollerence but it never caused issues during breastfeeding for her. I finally tried colief and about 24hrs after starting to use it, I saw a marked difference in my baby- he started to be happy and smile more and his evening crying reduced significantly with each day. After a few days I skipped using the drops during the night feeds and low and behold he started to be in pain with his tummy again. We are now using at every feed although I have to admit that I often put the drops directly onto my nipple before a feed and we are still see good results as hand expressing onto a spoon isn't always convenient. I wouldn't be without a bottle of this now! Tonight he went to sleep no tears and no fuss when previously we would be pacing up and down whilst he fretted or he 'd be crying at the breast with milk going everywhere. It worked for us because the cause of the colic was lactose intollerence- lots of babies don't make enough of the enzyme lactase which breaks down the proteins in milk. Usually they are producing enough of their own by 3 or 4 months so I will start to reduce the colief when we get near that point to see if he can manage without it but for now we use it at every feed. Yes the bottle is small but you only use a little amount at each feed. The active ingredient is an enzyme produced naturally in the gut . Lots of the other colic remedies are little more than unresearched hocus pocus and contain sugar, E numbers and goodness knows what else. This product is expensive because it contains legitimate ingredients but it probably won't work if your baby isn't lactase deficient and the colic is caused by another issue. For us it's been a life saver!

If your baby seems obsessed with their bowels and sometimes cries and nothing you can do helps, this is worth a try. My daughter has gastric reflux and although gaviscon sachets from the GP have helped with vomiting we were still getting 2 or 3 bad days a week when the poor baby would be screaming in pain which wasn't relieved till she had a poo. Since starting the colief 3 weeks ago we have had one half hour or crying related to stomach pains. The difference is immense. It's probably been helped by her stomach starting to mature a bit too as she is now 15 weeks. It won't work for every baby and it is costly but worth every penny of it works.

Great product to help with baby trapped wind. Easy to use you just add drop to the milk and really help settle babies with uncomfortable wind. Just a very small bottle.

Can't knock the product as I'm sure it works for some babies but sadly made our baby throw up all her milk

When our 3 week old daughter started becoming extremely distressed at about 7 everynight we thought she was just unable to settle, a few people said it could be colic so tried infacol for a few days but still the same distress but getting worse, knees pulling up to tummy, pure ear-piercing screams, it was horrific and upsetting as a mom to watch. My sister in law suggested this after she used it with her daughter and said it was amazing, we tried it in the hope of it working even a bit. OH MY WORD!!!! We would make the bottles up wait til they were just skin cool then add the drops, what I didn't know about colic is that a babys tummy can't cope with the milk so the colief breaks down the enzymes in the milk so there tiny tummies can digest it,it really is amazing our happy little girl was back being happy and sleeping and no longer in pain, the biggest relief ever. i would have paid tripple for this tiny bottle of liquid gold. I have a friend whos LO didn't work on and infacol did the trick, every baby is so different so its just trial and error, good luck and hope this review helps.

Never does the job for me. Definitely not my brand.I bought a face cream stick and my little one had an allergic reaction.

I used it for 3 months with my baby and I’m still not sure if it worked or not. Using it exactly by instruction is almost impossible if you are bottle feeding. It says you have to add it to lukewarm milk and then wait for 30 minutes, periodically shake it for it to activate. Anyone who has a baby knows it’s almost impossible as we feed on demand and first 3 months that demand can be anytime. But I still used it as my baby was extremely gassy, I was just adding drops when milked cooled to drinking temperature and give it right away. Not sure if it worked as it takes days to start working but I feel like we were a little better on it than without. No harm in trying and I liked the convenience of getting in delivered to my door.

Genuine product and very helpful. However, very slow delivery. Arrived in about 20 days

my baby had constipation problems with formula and this is the only thing that helped...the only draw back is you have to wait 30 min after u make the bottle before you can feed it to the baby...that is kind of hard to do when you have a hungry baby on your hands.

Desde que cumplió aproximadamente un mes mi bebé estaba con unos episodios de cólicos horrorosos y no había nada que terminara de funcionar bien, pero desde que le estamos dando el Colief todo parece haber mejorado muchísimo...le cuesta mucho menos hacer nº 2 al igual que sacarle los gases después de las tomas. En nuestro caso como hacemos lactancia diferida no es problema ponerle las gotas en la toma (supongo que lo mismo para quienes usen lactancia artificial), pero si fuera el pecho tampoco se si sería tan cómodo esto... En fin, por su efecto igual lo recomiendo

Je recomand! Mon bébé digérer le lait sans problème grâce à cette produit magic! j'arrête quelques jours parce que je tout utilisé et la nouveau commande ca pas arrivé encore et mon bébé commence avoir mal au ventre et du colic :( besoin de commande 2-3 pour n'être pas en rupture!
