These products are amazing I am running these along with their supertweeters and it sounds amazing! There is ringing you get from having your gains really loud which isnt preventable no matter what brand you buy or how much, check cables and ground to reduce it as much as possible. I put it on a bass knob and a switch just incase I have passengers in the backseat, I installed this where the 6×9 is, just one, and you can hear this thing from about 50 yards outside of my car! Great buy and it looks intimidating! Huge magnet and has lasted about 8 months strong, I put about 600 watts rms to it and it will barely distort but my ears are almost bleeding. I love it! Please read the dimensions to make sure you can fit this where you want too, it is about a foot long or so! Also you need to be extra with the HPF filters, I had the smaller one of this that lights up and blew it with about 500 watts, i found it useful to also use a seperate crossover that usually come with component sets along with the filter it comes with and it manages to hold up more power without blowing or distorting! Im really happy with this product. Im using it on my chuchero to go with two pyle tweeters and two 8 inch commando speakers but this is what separates it from other chucheros out there. This makes my 8 inch chuchero sound like a 10 inch chuchero. I have it powered by a taramps 400 watt amp and this thing hits the high frequency with ease and quality. I have blown it out already twice but if you’re not a car audio expert just know you dont have to re purchase a whole new one if its blown out. Nine times out of ten you probably just blew the voice coil which you can find on amazon for 10-20 bucks.

The photo depicts a Polk Audio T50 tower ($75 Best Buy!) with it's 6.5" midrange replaced with the DS18 horn. Fits like a glove all the way to contact with the back wall of cabinet. The two open 6.5" cutouts contained passive, unwired radiators in the T50. I have put in two woofers there and will likely replace Polk's tweeter although it sounds surprisingly good. The sound from this tower with the 2 CT Sounds woofers and this horn and original Polk tweeter blows away every B&W, Martin Logan I have auditioned in the $2-3K price range. It's unbelievable the clarity, loudness and vocals from the DS!8. All-in on the T50's is $325 each and they are the best sounding speakers I've ever heard. Good luck, enjoy!

These compression horn drivers are rated at 600 watts RMS. They are heavy and nicely constructed, however, the BIG problem is the power rating is grossly overstated. They will burn out with 50 watts RMS. We tested these in our audio lab with a typical home audio amplifier rated at 60 watts. With a 4 khz tone with the RMS output voltage set for just under 50 watts, in less than 30 seconds, the voice coil overheated causing failure. These should be rated at 30 watts RMS at 50% duty cycle for a more accurate description. Keep in mind, however, most compression horn speakers are overrated but this is rediculous.
