I have read several books about diet and acne, and have tried a variety of diets to help my sudden adult acne. Dr. Perricone's plan has by far led to the most improvement. When I follow his plan, take his supplements, and use the recommended (off-brand) topicals, I see slow and steady continued improvement in my skin. (The off-brand topicals may not work as well as Perricone's, but they are a fraction of the cost). I had developed sudden, sever acne on my face, upper arms and back at the age of 29. By following Dr. Perricone's plan, I have cured 90% of my acne on my own. I do, sometimes, deviate from his diet, usually for social reasons, and at those times, I have breakouts. I'm pretty sure that if I ate salmon every day and never anything on the "bad" list, my skin would be 99% clear. I have spent many months making lifestyle changes to improve my skin, and I still have some spots, but see continual slow and steady improvement. It takes a lot of time and dedication to heal ones body through diet and lifestyle. But this book, as well as the book "The Clear Skin Diet" by Logan and Treloar are full of accurate information backed by scientific studies, that actually help clear acne by getting to the root cause.

Good info and the book is under $10. cool.
I agree with others that you should only purchase one or two Perricone books, since a lot of info in his book can be similar across books.This book was good in that it had a more specific focus on Acne and inflammation. Also, there are pages that outline specific vitamins such as the B vitamins and give recommendations on dosage for each specific B vitamin, sources from foods, symptoms of deficiency, and what they can help with for your skin and body. It is also a nice reference book if you want to highlight, look back at it and review.It is under $10 so it is a good deal even if you only read it once.

SUPER USEFUL FOR ACNE!
Great book! It really has helped me in curing my acne. Before reading this book, I never fully understood the effects of inflammation and how it changes your entire body. This book outlines the problem and possible solutions for you. After having tried everything under the sun to demolish my acne once and for all, I purchased this book due to recommendation of a makeup artist in Sephora. He told me was the Holy Grail and he was right! I have implemented several solutions presented here, and have barely had any breakouts since!

Dr. Perricone Knows What He's Talking About
Very informative. I am planning to pursue the diet and entire plan after I lose some weight. The foods look like they could result in weight loss but I am on a strict 1200 calorie diet and don't want to eat any more than that. Calorie count is not mentioned in the book. I have read in other reviews that weight can be lost on this. Once I lose all the weight I am definitely trying this to clear up his skin.

IT WORKS
After a particularly bad few months with acne, I was at my wit's end after supplements, extractions, a chemical peel and LED treatment. I did the 3 day Perricone diet and saw a marked improvement even if I was sick and tired of salmon. I was encouraged to keep going and though my skin isn't entirely back to normal, it's on the right path. I was the last person in the world who wanted to admit that I needed to stop or limit some food I love but my skin really forced me to deal with it.

This book has lots of good information in it, I tried it for a bit and it actually seemed to work. It's kind of hard to stick to the foods though.

Perricone Clear Skin delivers!
What I particularly like about this version of the Perricone Prescription lifestyle choice program is that it includes an extensive chapter on yoga instead of the high-sound sorts of jock/sports club ideas of getting and keeping fit. It seems to be essentially the same as the larger, more expensive volume with a concentration on what input directly does to outbreak and outcome all over the body, plus functioning of the brain. Buy it!

Works!
Absolutely works if you can stick to it! When I follow this strictly my skin heals and becomes clear. Even just the basics helps - focus meals on salmon an other oily fish, poultry, eggs, green veg and salad, melon, citrus fruit and berries. Cut out root vegetables (potatoes etc) and grains except oats and quinoa. For me I can also have rice and sourdough bread without problems. Avoid all fried and junk foods. Avoid dairy except plain yogurt and feta cheese. If you're unsure about whether it will help you, try the 3 day diet first which is available for free on Dr Perricone's website I've learnt so much from this book about acne as an inflammatory response and how what we eat can help minimise that inflammation.

the method (i tried food) does not clean the skin by 100%, but it really really helpsat least my skin got much much cleaner, still i have some acnerecommend
