Works well; many features; subscription not required; good price !
This Zeeporte wifi surveillance camera does exactly what I need, and more, and is a bargain at the current price of $35.The minor negatives are mentioned below. I also note that although Zeeporte has a website their listed email is apparently disconnected. On the other hand they can apparently be contacted through Amazon messaging. The manual is better than some but overall barely adequate. So this is mostly what I've figured out. All of my use is without buying the offered subscription from VicoHome, which apparently enables more cloud storage and motion capture options. That costs about $5/mo; I didn't investigate that since my own use will be very occasional and the functions involved work well enough as it is.This device requires installation of the android VicoHome smart device app from Google Play store, which easily installed on my Pixel 4 phone. Be careful to get this one, not the similar Google-sponsored app that appears above it in the store listings. You must also have 2.4GH (can't use 5GHz) wifi which in my very vanilla case is from a modern Asus router.Without a subscription you'll have to insert a micro-SD card if you want to record video clips; otherwise the device will fall back to storing only single image snapshots on the basic free level of "the Cloud". And in this case the only way to delete or permanently download video clips is by physically removing the micro-SD card and attaching it to your phone or computer. It would be nice if we could delete the clips using the wifi connection, to free up space on the SD card, but that's not a big deal. There is also some clumsiness in the interface when "selecting" video clips to view or notifications to delete. A couple steps might be required where it could obviously be done in one. These things usually result from miscommunications between the design teams.Setup went as it should with me entering my home LAN login credentials. I put in a 128GB micro-SD card which the app offered to format (to FAT32) which surprisingly worked perfectly. There are many subsettings and features, such as the ability to have the camera "sleep" during any time periods you set. All that I tried worked as they should. I have mine off from 7AM to 7PM, saving battery power. The internal 5000 mAH battery is substantial and from other reports here lasts around the month that Zeeporte claims. That can be charged via a standard USB-C 5V connection so you can use any phone charger (not included with this model). Or you can leave the charger connected and not be concerned with battery life. This connection, the micro-SD slot, and the Power / Reset buttons are in a nicely enclosed compartment at the bottom. And if you play with the supplied mounting stand (eg. omit the large white tightening nut; not really needed) you can get get into this compartment eg. to recharge the battery without dismounting the camera. This stand is cheaply made but adequate and comes with screws and screw anchors, one of the many nice touches here. Also at the bottom of the camera is a sturdy brass threaded insert for the supplied mounting base to screw into, and this insert is the same 1/4-20 thread as for a standard photographer's tripod. That worked out well for me although depending on tripod construction it will probably block access to the controls / power compartment. You can work around this issue with a camera extension / riser. Look here on Amazon for "SMALLRIG Standard 15mm Micro Rod 1.5 Inches Long with 1/4" Male Female Thread for Clamp Mount - 915".The camera itself is remarkably solid and well-made; with a clean design giving the impression of a high-end unit. I accidentally dropped it onto gravel from five feet up and it survived fine with only a few small scratches. The picture quality is very good, with a couple of choices of resolution. I stayed with Standard Definition aka SD which is all I need. In the day you get full color and can opt for that at night too but the default then is black & white under infrared light which does best under those conditions. In that case the ring of red IR emitters around the camera lens will be visible. Also note that this is a very-wide angle "fish-eye" lens. That gives maximum coverage at the cost of distortion of shapes and distances. It's a good trade-off.Once you get it mounted and working, the new user confusion begins, and I thought my unit was defective. Most important is to realize that there are TWO SEPARATE wifi things happening. One is "ONLINE" (the camera is communicating with the phone app) and the other is "CONNECTED" (the camera is streaming video to the phone app). The latter mode consumes more battery power so is off by default and only starts working when you force it to.Thus, by default, the camera will (if not sleeping) stay ONLINE monitoring its area and do several things when an object crosses its path: (1) take a still picture; (2) record a short eg 10-sec video clip to the cloud and micro-SD card; (3) create an event notification. The camera has three levels of motion detection sensitivity. I left mine on the default "Medium" since that worked for me with few false alarms due to eg. bush branches waving in the wind. As mentioned a subscription activates more options for this but the defaults worked fine for me.On my phone new apps are by default denied notification rights. So although the camera app created event notifications in its log these did not show up as phone notifications until I got that enabled in the phone's Settings.A notification sends to your phone the latest still picture and has an option to manually Alarm which will make the camera emit a siren sound, manually enable a bright white light, and even converse with a person detected. When the camera did give me a verbal alert it was in a clear, loud voice. You can control a lot of these aspects in the detail settings. Also then in the app you'll see the latest still picture recorded, with a green "play" arrow button in the middle. If you press that play button the camera will attempt to become CONNECTED and begin streaming live video to your phone.==> This is where I got more confused. The app reports what the camera sees as wifi signal strength which for me was always good enough to keep the camera ONLINE. But it very often wasn't enough to let the camera become CONNECTED which would just cycle until it timed out. Finally after raising the camera above ground level using a tripod AND restarting / rebooting my phone (very important) the latter became reliable. I'm guessing that the radio in the camera has trouble with the bitrate required for a CONNECTED video transmission, which would be much higher than simply staying ONLINE.While the camera is CONNECTED the app brings up two icons within the picture - one for "recording" and one for "snapshot" so you can manually force either one. Note that these go to your phone's Camera storage, NOT to the SD card in the camera. This recording function is apparently separate from the auto-recording of a video clip to the SD card which will already have happened. Also note that if it can CONNECT to your wifi the camera can stream to your phone wherever you have cell service, so you can monitor areas even if you're far from home. From all this I see at least three use cases for this camera. One is to monitor eg a front door and interact with people arriving. For that you need a strong wifi connection; however, you might get by without a micro-SD card.A second use is as a general surveillance camera with which you can watch your home remotely, from anywhere, with or without notifications of movement. Again you wouldn't need an SD card because you can view and download the approx 10-sec clips to your phone.A third use is to capture eg. a night's events even in spots where your wifi is weak or possibly non-existent (I didn't try a no wifi case). With a micro-SD card the camera doesn't need to become CONNECTED and probably not even ONLINE since I think it defaults to the active surveillance mode. Then in the morning you can retrieve the camera, get it ONLINE and look at its notifications log, and pull out the micro-SD card to watch captured video clips.Again, all with no subscription.Altogether this is a very good unit and well priced. I bought two more because it's made so well and works so well (now that I know how...) that I see more uses here. Connecting and using a additional cameras via the app is painless and you can easily switch between the use of them. Not surprisingly you can only stream to the phone from one camera at a time.

Good Battery Operated Indoor/Outdoor Security Camera
This security camera was extremely easy to set up, I essentially just powered it up and it did the rest. I already had the VicoHome app for another camera, and this one was easy to add to the app. It is a very small profile. It comes in white and has a very clean look. I installed it outside and it provides a clear picture on the darkest of nights. I could not see anything with my naked eye, but as shown with picture attached I could clearly see the yard and trees. The white light illuminated dimly the area closest to the camera. It was easy to mount outside, I secured it to our trellis. The sound from the camera comes from a speaker on the back of the unit. I tried the alarm and talking. Both were on the quiet side. The sound may be more effective if you are using the camera indoors. I also included a picture in the daylight. Lastly, you can mute the camera so you do not hear the sounds the camera hears. It is a stationary camera, so once positioned, you can not change the view angle from the app. You can zoom into the picture though. The picture is great. You can also adjust the picture quality if your wifi does not have enough bandwidth. Overall a good camera, but you need to make sure it has the features you need.

Peace of mind. Would recommend
I've been using this camera indoors for about two weeks, and it's been working really well. I mainly got it to check in on my dog when I'm not home, and it gives me real peace of mind. The picture quality is sharp—2K resolution really does make a difference—and it covers my entire living room plus the front door area. If anyone comes in, I’ll have a clear recording. The motion alerts are accurate, and I like that it can tell the difference between a person, pet, or package. I also appreciate the two-way talk feature—it's nice being able to speak through the app when needed. Night vision works well too, even in full darkness.Setup was simple since it's wire-free and battery-powered. I haven’t had to recharge yet, and I like that it doesn’t need any cords. It’s advertised as outdoor, but I’m using it inside, and it’s been perfect.Overall, I’d definitely recommend this camera for anyone looking to monitor their home or pets. It’s reliable, easy to use, and the app makes checking in from anywhere really convenient. P.s. I did not permanently place it, just set it on the bookshelf. It's nice to be able to move it to another room.

Solid little camera
This is our second camera of this brand. The first one has to be plugged in. We bought this one for our chicken coop because it's rechargeable. I think we can even get a solar panel for it to keep it charged. So far we've had it up for a week, as of today. It's still over 50% charged even with it set up for motion detection/notifications and me constantly checking in our baby chicks all week. lol. It was incredibly easy to set up and easy to navigate. We like that it has a little light on it as well, so we can see in the evenings when it's between color and night mode. The quality of the picture is surprisingly good. It has several other handy functions, such as an alarm and speaker so we can talk through it as well. It works smoothly enough as well even though on occasion there's a little lag when you first switch to live mode. Overall, we're really stoked about this little camera and the price was definitely right! I don't think you can go wrong with it. We would definitely buy it again. I'll update if we have any issues as we use it. :)
