Best light for the price
Wonderful option for the price. Simple to use very bright and durable. High power magnet, makes it easy to stick on the bottom of your hood while working in the car. It is a little thicker, making it stick out of your pocket, but still manageable. Clip seems to be durable and hold well. Easy to adjust brightness for multipurpose light. Has a great throw and will light up anything you need. My first choice when recommending a light that can do it all. Battery life is great. Recharging is simple and fast.

this is a great little flashlight
i bought this so i could use it at work. i am a maintenance man and spend alot of time working on machinery in low light conditions. the magnet is very handy. and the adjustable brightness works great also. i have also used it attached to my hat where i cant mount it in certain situations. it has never run out of power on me. and it being rechargeable is the most convenient part of it!! GOOD BUY!! YOU WILL LOVE IT!! UPDATE: this was purchased on 12-13-21 and it is now 11-14-24 and it still going strong!! i have dropped this little bad boy so many times, i lost count. i have never changed the battery, and still works all day. things i found out, it is easy to leave on and put back in pocket or you lean on it and it comes on if it hits the button. happens every couple months or so. but it will get hot enough for you to finally realize if turned up high enough. you also need to be careful with the recharging port DONT just jam the cable in there thinking you have it turned right. and the little button you turn it on with, tells you the battery state. with dirty hands all day this is not easy to read or at all. BUT I WOULD STLL GIVE THIS 5 STARS BEST LIGHT I HAVE EVER HAD FOR WORK AND IS SO SMALL EASILY FITS IN YOUR POCKET. PERFECT FOR A MAINTENANCE MAN. AND IT IS PLENTY BRIGHT ENOUGH WITHOUT BEING TURNED ALL THE WAY UP, PLUS IT LAST LONGER THAT WAY.

One tiny, bright flashlight ThruNite T1
I have relied on ThruNite flashlights for years, including one I've carried everyday for the last 5 years or so. Was intrigued when I saw the T1. 1500 lumen in a tiny package. Pretty cool. I'm a bit of a tactical flashlight junkie, so I ordered it. It is small and it is bright. Interesting features as well. The infinite gradual increase in brightness makes it very flexible. Double tap to go to full turbo mode. Strobe feature. Charge the battery as you would your cell phone or whatever. As always, great ThruNite features and value. Couple of small negatives. Not to be unexpected, it will get hot in full turbo mode, if left on for a while. Most all lights of this power will get hot, but this one seems to get there pretty quick. With most lights using a tail cap, you can depress the cap slightly for the light to come on without turning it on all the way. No option with this one. Small issue, but not as handy. One other thing that I wish ThruNite would offer would be light up or light down option when carrying in the pocket. My older model allows for light up only, which I like. I find I'm less likely to turn the light on by accident and if I did, it was easier to notice without setting my pants on fire if the light was in the pocket light down. It would be nice if they could offer an option to move the pocket clip on the light body to carry it how one would like. All later lights seem to be made to carry light down only. I expect the T1 to be as reliable and durable as my other ThruNite flashlights. I would buy it again, most likely as a present since they never seem to die.

A good quality flashlight, with a few small problems
All in all, I don't regret purchasing this light. I wanted a light I could put under my ball cap so it can function as a head lamp. For that purpose, this light is great. I like that it's rechargeable, and at it's brightest, it's very bright. Onto the problems- The biggest one is that there's no way to focus the beam. This is more of a problem for the lower light setting, as it's pretty dull to save battery. That wouldn't be a problem if you could focus the beam to become more narrow & more focused in circumstances where you might need a tighter, brighter beam, but as the front of the light is fixed in place, you're stuck with one wide, dim setting when you're in battery saving mode. Next, the charger- this light uses a CUSTOM Micro USB that has a longer prong to charge. That means you have to use the cable that comes with the flashlight, not any of the dozens of micro USB cables you probably already have. It's not the worst thing in the world, but the U in Micro USB stands for Universal for a reason, and it's a bit of a hassle to remember to include their custom charging cable when packing the light. One more small issue- I'll admit this one is nit-picky, but if you're putting the flashlight on your ball cap, you kind of have to bend the metal clip outwards a little, as it's folded a little to tightly to clip onto a standard ball cap brim. Not terrible, and it stays on just fine, but something worth noting. To summarize- good not great. I for sure don't regret buying this, it gets the job done, but there might be better alternatives out there.

This light is amazing!
This light is a must have for any flashlight junkie, gear addict, or someone just looking for a great overall EDC light. Its a great alternative to more expensive options out there! This light has been dropped in the snow, covered in oil, rained on you name it and its still be going strong! The battery lasts forever on a single charge and the firefly mode is awesome when you need light but don't need to light up a room. The pocket clip is sturdy and hangs on and so does the magnetic tailcap. The only con I have with this light is the button feels a little cheap, however with that being said it has still held up and far exceeded my expectations! . . Overall: I would highly recommend this light to anyone looking for a cheaper alternative to more expensive options out there. Its held up great in the 8-ish months that I have been using it. I carry this daily in my pocket and use it! Camping, working on cars, hiking, just walking around at night this light covers it all.

Simple Operation, Solid Throw, and Strong Build Quality!
This is an excellent compact light to keep on hand for everyday carry or emergency use! The dual-press and triple-press shortcuts are friendly and no-nonsense which is appreciated. I find it a bit larger than I would like, but the power tradeoff is worthwhile—you get better throw and excellent brightness. The reversible pocket clip is sturdy and holds securely. It rides well in a pocket and does not feel flimsy or prone to bending. Build quality overall feels durable and well-finished. Since a newer model has been released, this one is now discounted, which makes it an even better value. I like getting a proven design at a reduced price. Straightforward operation, dependable output, good carry options, and strong value for the money. Easy recommendation if you want a reliable small flashlight without gimmicks.

Surprising little pocket rocket
So to be honest, I bit on the ad. I was buying the ti3 as a gift and saw this item on sale. I did no previous research prior to it arriving all I knew was that I liked the rechargeable battery, mag cap and increased brightness. So when it arrived I was surprised. First - the interface is more complicated than the ti3 but with such a great range of choices. There is still access to the firefly light which is the best thrunite offering, but the reason I love my ti3 is that your need for light changes, and it is 3 different flashlights. The t1 has basically a dimmer switch like the one over my kitchen sink. Once on, Press and hold to dim up or down to give the exact amount of light so it can be 20 different lights - a perfect fit. Long hold on button accesses the firefly and a double tap accesses the turbo light. Simple once learned and very well thought out. The output of light for this size is incredible but turbo is almost too much light for a torch without focusing ability so I'd say the throw is the biggest (or only) shortcoming with the light for me. On to the form - I understand the mag cap is probably the reason the t1 doesn't have a metal attachment for the strap but I have yet to fit the nylon strap through the tiny hole to attach it and with repeatedly using a pin to push it through I am worried the integrity of the strap will be compromised should I actually get it through. It has not been at all easy. I may just leave it off. So that isn't great, but the counterpoint is that the two way clip is f'in genius. Love it. Attaches front or back. The mag Cap is so much better than my other light simply because this light itself is so small and light. I can't answer the durability question with much authority as I just received it. I have had a little falloff of performance with my ti3 where it seems to change light out of sequence or skip settings and sometimes shakes off. It is like 3 years old and because it is in my pocket everyday and gets banged about I figure the wear is more substantial than the flashlight that sits in my drawer. It looks like a Vietnam war souvenir but the wear all seems perfectly legitimate. I replaced mine with a new one over sending back the old one outside of the 2years. Its not that expensive a replacement. So back to the t1. I paid the reduced promotional price $40 but I feel its a little spendy at $50 - Not sure I'd have paid that. Overall very excited about this big brother to my ti3. Not a replacement as its not quite keychain pocket size (or friendly) but still has a home here. So overall its a love with the light, the magcap and the rechargeable, but the clip and interface are really special. wrist strap useless. I finally used a very strong thread and pulled the strap through. the first thread I used broke.

Dead Light. No Replacement. With Updates.
I hate writing reviews like this, and rarely ever do. I bought two of these T1 CW lights in mid December 2019 (as is my habit to have a backup). I’d always been a Fenix guy, but for whatever reason the latest Fenix releases haven’t really spoken to me. So, I kind of went all in with Thrunite. In the space of a month or so I bought two each of their Archer 2A V3, T10 II NW AND CW, TN4A, Catapult V6, TC20 & T1 models. I also picked up two each from their sub-brand WowTac models: A4 V2, A5, A6, and A1S. I was very, very pleased with the UI and performance of all the lights. I’m very cautious (probably overly so) with my lights, and don’t do wild tests or even normal “heavy” use. This T1 was my bedside/nightstand light. I used it almost exclusively inside my house - in moonlight mode. It was perfect for that role. I loved the size, floody beam, and sub-lumen mode. I loved the built in shortcuts to moonlight and turbo (even though I very rarely used turbo). I recharged the battery precisely once in the slightly over 1 month that I had it (the battery was MAYBE at 50% when I recharged it). About a week later I wake up in the middle of the night, put the light in moonlight mode so as not to wake my wife, come back to bed a bit later (back in moonlight mode), put the light on my nightstand. Everything worked fine, and the routine was normal. Fast forward to early that next morning (still dark in the room) I reach over and hold down the button for moonlight...nothing. I let go and hold it down again for longer thinking maybe I accidentally locked it. Nothing. I click, double click. Nothing. The indicator light in the button doesn’t light up red to show low battery or locked status. I take the battery out, put it back in, tighten the head...nothing. I try to tighten the head more...nothing. I plug in the provided USB cable...nothing (not even the purple light to indicate charging failure). So I remove the battery and put it in my external charger which shows that the battery IS very low. I charge it with the external charger, and put it back in the light...nothing. I take THAT battery out and grab the battery from the other (so far unused) T1. Still nothing. The light is dead. The battery WAS dead too...it had drained from nearly full over night. But the light wouldn’t charge it, nor would it work with a charged battery. I’m guessing that the circuitry somehow opened and drained the battery and fried itself overnight. Pure speculation there though. All I know is that I have a light barely a month old that is dead. I email Thrunite via Amazon on January 23, 2020 Get a reply back from Eva asking me to check the charging port and make sure the contact is positioned correctly in the tail. No problems there, and I even take a picture of the spring/contact and attach it. On January 25, 2020 Eva emails me and says that she will send out a new light for me “soon”. It’s been a month since that e-mail and I have yet to receive the light or another email about the status of shipment. I’m sure some think that I’m not being reasonable by reviewing after “only” a month. However, at this point, I’ve had a non-working light as long as I had a working one. If they were having stocking troubles with a new product I could understand. And I realize we are talking about small, battery, electronic devices. Any of them can and do fail. That said, I’ve never had a Fenix (or even Nitecore) light fail - and certainly not in such a mysterious manner. I have Fenix lights that are over a decade old that HAVE been dropped (unlike this Thrunite) and are still going strong. I’m not here to bash the company - I really like all of the other lights I’ve bought from them (especially the TC20 and Catapult V6). However, this has made me trust all of them a bit less. The other lights will have to prove themselves to me over time. I HAVE lost faith completely in this particular model though. I gave the 2nd one I had to my wife for use as a bedside light (she’s never really used or wanted one - but I simply didn’t want it anymore). I appreciated the politeness and promptness of response from Thrunite customer service. And their solution would have been satisfactory to me had it been completed in a timely fashion. The light might come in tomorrow, or it might come in 2 weeks or 3 months from now. Or never. If it DOES I WILL update my review to reflect that and probably raise the rating by a star. I also realize that I could and some would say should contact the company again about my replacement. But, to be frank, I don’t really want the replacement now (I’ve since purchased an Olight S1R II) and I’m not going to brow beat a company into sending me a light that I’m not going to use now. Even if they do technically still owe me one under the terms of purchase/warranty. Would I buy another Thrunite product? That depends. If the other models I’ve bought from them ALL continue to work - I will probably consider them again in the future. If any of the other lights fail...then no I won’t consider them in future light purchases. I hope that’s not the case and it’s a fluke, or problem specific to this model. Update 3/27/20: It’s now been (slightly over) a month since my original review and 2 months since my contact with Thrunite. No further contact on their part (or mine to be honest - see above) and no replacement has arrived. Truly not expecting one to at this point. I’ll not waste your time or mine with monthly updates. I just thought that I would do this first one in case anyone wondered whether Thrunite reached out or sent the light. I probably will check back in at the 6 month mark and at similar intervals in the future (I guess until they discontinue it). And, as before, if they do send out a replacement or make contact again I WILL update immediately. My previous viewpoint still stands though: I’m not going to make contact a second time to ask for a light that I now have no faith in or desire to own. I do feel that they should honor their warranty, and I do feel that I wasted and lost 50ish dollars. I still understand that anyone can send out a dud light, and that customer service can have slip ups. But when you get a double whammy of both right together...it makes you (or me at least) less enthusiastic about the company. And that feeling seems to grow over time. Now I find myself not reaching for the other lights I own from them in situations where I know I might really need them. For instance, we had a round of severe weather recently and I was packing some items in case of emergency. I started to pick up my Thrunite TC20, but thought “Nope. What if that thing just mysteriously dies like the other one?” So I’ve been replacing the entire line with similar lights from Olight. In this case, I grabbed a Seeker 2 Pro. I was concerned because Olight didn’t have a “thrower” comparable to the Thrunite Catapult V6...but then they released the Warrior X Pro. The Catapult still out throws it (slightly), and I like the way it feels in the hand better. BUT I trust the Olight and it doesn’t form a ring of condensation on the INSIDE of the glass lens once it heats up. When the Catapult does that, the Olight WILL out throw it. I’m not here to do commerical for Olight, and I actually used to not care for them. Hated the proprietary batteries and chargers (still wish they could find a work around on that), and thought they were overpriced (they are high...but if that’s what it takes to get some piece of mind...they aren’t THAT much more). Maybe Fenix will step it back up with their designs. At least they built a solid, reliable light though. To sum up, the jury is still out for me overall on Thrunite. I know I don’t trust this particular light. But that, plus this customer service snafu, and the internal fogging on the Catapult has my opinion of their company and lights sliding downhill. Such a shame. Good price, nice designs, great power and run time for size, and I loved the UI. But, if you don’t trust the light AND have doubts whether the company will stand behind it - that negates all the positives. Update 8/13/2020: It has now been over 6 months since I contacted Thrunite about the dead light, and was told that I would be shipped another. No new contact, no new light. Based off my experience, and the troubling amount of similar experiences of other users, I will steer people away from this light when possible. At this point, the dead light, the failure to follow through with sending a replacement, and the issue with my Catapult V6 (internal condensation) has soured my opinion on the company as a whole. I hate that as I felt they have some interesting designs and I THOUGHT reasonable prices. But if that cut in price means: sloppy customer service, quality control, and the unwillingness to acknowledge and remedy a design that clearly has what should be an unacceptable number of failures - then I will not consider that company in future purchases. And I buy/collect (relatively) expensive lights regularly. Update 12/17/2020: Well, I’ve owned the light for slightly over a year now. That means I’ve owned a dead light for about 11 months. It’s still dead, and I’ve still had no further contact from Thrunite and obviously no replacement. My decision (and the reasoning behind it - see above) to not contact the company again remains. It appears we are at a stalemate. They got my $50(ish) dollars. I got a month’s worth of working flashlight, and a broken pledge to send a replacement. I now view it as my divorce settlement with Thrunite. If you’re looking for a Christmas present...I would keep looking. Probably Olight or Fenix. Either way, Merry Christmas. Yes, that includes you as well, Thrunite.
