The mottled gray coloring is great and the bill comes pre-formed. I've done nothing to the bill in the photos. The sizing strap is cloth and an infinitely adjustable buckle is used rather than velcro or plastic snaps. It fits like a glove and the price was amazing. I purchased a small set of black and white morale patches, American flag shown here. Even without using the patches the Condor branding is a part of the front velcro and looks good without a patch. My patch on the back of the cap is "In God We Trust." Very cool.
