Traditional game of Mancala. Very well built with beautiful traditional stones. Easy game to learn that can turn very competitive.

Fast delivery, loved the product. It was worth the price. You can buy a cheaper version elsewhere to be fair, but if you like a bit of difference, this is absolutely worth it.

I’m not sure what I was expecting from this mancala set, but I was still surprised when it (eventually) arrived at my door. On the whole it is a very special game, in many ways beautifully crafted. However, I had a couple of little issues that frustrated me, partly because it is ‘almost’ perfect, and partly because of the very substantial price point. First up, it is huge. Genuinely it is twice the size I thought it might be, we was both a delight (how lovely) but also a headache (where on earth will I store it)? Unfortunately the box arrived broken at one corner, ripped down the side,only an inch or so but frustrating. Furthermore, there are a great many flaps and slots to secure the lid, which is a fold over and tuck in, rather than just lift off, style (more prone to wear over time, already creased after first opening) The game board is absolutely beautiful. It smells divine. It’s very tactile with the rounded corners etc. the finishing is good, but it sadly not perfect. The hinges are a bit shoddy. Some of the little bowls aren’t sanded to smooth in the inside. Although the etching on the outside is wonderful, it is the inside you will see when you play, and there are a few little imperfections, rather than just the grain. I think most of us would consider putting the game board on display as a sculpture, almost. Note, the etchings on the top and bottom do not match, one is ‘upside down’ to the other, so you can balance the board, open, on display. You can display it with the hinge/flat edge to the top - but you can’t display it with the rounded edge to the top (figures and logo are upside down). Moving on. As others mention the little bag the game pieces are supplied in is kind of … rustic. It is not well finished. However I did receive all 48 game pieces and they are lovely and very tactile to hold (no spares though). The instruction are printed on one side of A5, black and white only, no diagrams. They’ve obviously gone to a lot of trouble to make the set look authentic and for the price I would be forgiven for thinking it should be. However the board is not carved in Africa, it is made in China. It’s not clear what type of wood is used, or whether the stones are gemstones or glass. I think we need more provenance when the board costs £42. I’ve pulled a lot of issues out, and they are all real. However if you order this, and it arrives, despite everything, I guarantee when you open the box the first word out of your mouth will be ‘Wow’!

I searched quite extensively for a mancala set for our daughter. This one checked all of the boxes. It is attractive which makes for a nice gift presentation. I wouldn't say it's compact, however it folds in half into a narrow shape with magnets that makes it easy to store. The board is solid wood with little carved designs on the outside. The game pieces are irregular shapes of real polished stone which are both beautiful to look at and comfortable to hold. They aren't too big or too small and so much more interesting than the flat glass stones for floral arrangements some sets come with. If you play mancala you know that eventually you accumulate a handful that can be a challenge for smaller hands. Most importantly, they're not round! I can't understand how some sellers are using marbles. Why?🤷‍♀️ Anyhow, this set has been a joy to play with and at such a reasonable price I would easily repurchase for gifting.

Soy un enamorado de los juegos de mesa. Cuántas tardes y noches habré pasado jugando, cuántas risas, cuántos buenos ratos. Normalmente estos juegos contienen tableros, fichas y útiles de cartón o de plástico. Nos encontramos aquí en una categoría totalmente diferente, este juego es de una liga superior. Lo primero que te sorprende de este Mancala es su tamaño. Es realmente grande, con huecos amplios para poner las piezas. Otro aspecto por lo que se ve que realmente es un juego de lujo y está en otra categoría es la madera de la que está hecho. Se ve de muy buena calidad, sólida y duradera, con un bonito acabado, bien pulida y barnizada. El tablero se compone de dos tablas con sus respectivos cuencos que se pliegan la una sobre la otra gracias a unas bisagras, haciendo que el tablero ocupe relativamente poco espacio cuando está cerrado. Abierto y con las piedras en los cuencos queda realmente bonito si tienes una vitrina o estantería donde lo puedas exponer. La parte exterior de la madera está bellamente ornamentada con grabados de motivos étnicos, que recuerdan mucho a los auténticos petroglifos, dándole un toque muy elegante al juego. Si el tablero es realmente bonito ¿qué decir de las piedras de las que están hechas las fichas? Pues que son piedras semipreciosas naturales, con un pulido que les da un acabado brillante, muy vistoso, ya que además son de colores variados y muy vivos. Son muy agradables al tacto. Muy suaves y pulidas. Se nota que el fabricante ha querido hacer un juego de máxima calidad, con buenos acabados y muy elegante a la vista y al tacto. Lo único que creo que se podría mejorar es la bolsa que contiene las piedras, ya que desentona un poco su calidad comparada con el resto de los componentes del juego. Pero vamos, es un juego excelente con el que podrás sorprender muy gratamente a cualquier persona que se lo regales, o mejor aún, si te gustan los juegos te puedes hacer un auto regalazo estupendo, porque tú lo vales. Es un juego de gran calidad que no dejará indiferente a nadie.
