Blazor by an Expert to a Furture Expert
Same as the 2nd edition released in April 2023, this is a book written by an expert for a future expert, just further refined.Having read several books on Blazor, I can tell this one stands out.Unlike some other books, this one goes through only one project - building a blog hosting engine. I find it sufficient and it made me feel like a real project is accomplished at the end.The author covers it so comprehensively it resembles a typical developer's work on a large project. The development is done in an iterative manner. The book fleshed out the technical requirements at the beginning of each chapter which I find very nice to have to ensure one can successfully complete it.My highlights: the web aesthetics of the app are covered very much in depth. Knowing that every project demands a lot of details to the user interface one must feel served and not worried of the demands.I was surprised the book covers how to migrate from legacy web development artifacts. Interop with Angular, React, and more.Things I wish were changed: I can only think of one, I wish the debugging part would come much earlier in the book.

Great writing
In last 10 years the technical writers became so bad, sorry Mark, and they are simply throwing information at you. I thought authors like Don Box, Chris Sells, Adam Nathan don't exist anymore. Jimmy gives me hope, he is a great writer. It was a pleasure to read the Blazor book. He got me when he said "Blazor can remove everything you hate about web dev". Every Net dev hates web dev so I felt understood. The book is logical and told in a very good style. A must read.

Nice update to my primary Blazor reference book
I've owned both previous editions of this book, and they've been extremely valuable when I need to dip my toe into Blazor development (which is only occasionally). This third edition updates all the content to reflect what's new in .NET 8. Blazor in .NET 8 has changed quite a bit, for example the rendering modes and selecting a mode per-component, and the book's updates will help you understand the new and updated features in addition to being a valuable guide for .NET developers who are new to Blazor and Razor pages. Check it out if you're looking for Blazor help!

Avoid this mess
This book is full of so many typos that you'll waste hours just trying to wade through them all. Even if you do, the code won't work.I realize that it's difficult to write a book about something before it is released, but this book is just an update from a previous book. Sorry, but it's terrible. The overall organization and explanations will have you scratching your head.I've been developing web apps with Microsoft tech for over 20 years. This is one of the worst books I've come across.

A decent journey through Blazor with several technical minefields
The book is laid out well and the goal of building an end-t-end application chapter by chapter is a good one, but by around the middle of the book the wheels come off of the train. There are several typos and technical errors in the book, and the GitHub repo isn't much better (at the time of this review). The reader is left to fiddle and tinker to get things to work, which is the complete opposite of the intended effect of the book.If you're willing to figure out your way through the hurdles, there's good content here. Otherwise, there are better Blazor resources that you can supplement with the latest Microsoft documentation to get an end-to-end view.

Problems start with Chapter 5
He gets off to a good start, but then come the code examples which which aren't laid out that well. That's OK - he put an effort into a GIT repository but then, around chapter 5, those don't work, either. You also can't download them as a group, just manually/ individually. When I tried to ask the author about it, I was sent to a Pakt help group that doesn't mention his book.If you really want this book, search the net, because you can get it off of other sites for a lot less money than here.
