I use this for the connection between my Holley Terminator and a laptop and it's on the let side of the steering column so no one tries to charge their phone. Very clean and no need for searching for the extension connector.

This product is excellent and meets the need for it's intent to connect a cellphone to an aftermarket radio. With this design, without the integrated USB cable, it allows for it to be disconnected from the back to remove the dash, if needed.

Good USB mount. Longer threads allow for mounting in thicker materials. The stated cut-out measurement of 25mm is incorrect. It is 7/8ths of an inch or 22.225mm. The listed 25mm is larger than the flange.

I have old car that does not have nice factory radio that takes USB input. I upgraded the radio and it came with a couple USB cable with female end. I had to hot glue or tape it and it look ugly. This little USB port helped making all look nice and clean. I guess it's designed for a boat setup (has rubber cover), but works fine on my car. I drilled a hole on car center console and mounted this USB port, where I wanted to connect my USB thumb drives for MP3 playback. Works very nice, and you don't have to solder anything. You'll need USB A male to USB A male cable, though, to connect.

This works exactly for what I needed it to, to extend my car stereos usb plug needed for pairing phones etc. The factory radio usb has no way to mount it in the dash it just dangles. I didn't want a dangling usb so I wasn't able to use it until I found this device. You simply drill a hole where you want this to be located, insert it and tighten the back nut, lug in your usb cable (male) to the back of this usb plug. You might need a male to female adapter if your usb end is a female usb like mine because the back of this plug is a female as well. I just ordered a double male adapter to fix the issue.
