🌟 Unravel the Fold, Rewrite History!
Unknown 9: Awakening for PS5 is an action-adventure game that immerses players in a rich narrative where they control Haroona, a Quaestor with the ability to navigate a mysterious dimension called the Fold. Players will engage in thrilling battles, explore stunning environments, and make impactful choices that shape the course of the story.

A Janky Yet Intriguing Adventure
Unknown 9: Awakening on PS5 delivers a mixed bag. As Haroona, you wield unique Fold powers like mind control and invisibility, which shine in stealth and combat. The vibrant settings, from Indian jungles to Portuguese gothic landscapes, are visually stunning, and Anya Chalotra’s performance adds depth. However, the linear levels, clunky combat, and technical issues like sluggish controls and bugs drag it down. The story feels rushed, leaning on generic revenge tropes despite rich lore. A promising AA debut with fun mechanics, but it’s held back by unpolished execution. Worth a try for fans of single-player adventures!

Very unique gameplay
This game has a unique gameplay. Instead of run and gun you can take over your enemies through varies means. Time slows down and you can move them into positions, like in front of an enemy attack, or group them up for an enemies AOE, have them attack explosives, etc. Good story and decent cinema.

An out-there story with unique, fun combat
Very fun game with interesting combat mechanics that mixes stealth, brawling, and strategy. When you power-up and fully utilize jumping from one body to take out one enemy and then jumping in another to attack another creating a large chain reaction, it feels quite good and makes you feel super powerful.I appreciate the scale of the story and what they are going for and that is not an open-world game as they usually don't make for too many unique/memorable experiences. The set pieces are large and makes my imagination wander when I see these ancient ruins and almost other worldly areas.Highly recommend.

Interesting, but not up to par for 2024
I have seen Unknown 9 compared to a PS2 game with a 2024 veneer and I can understand where this description comes from. While the voice acting is superb, the environments can be quite beautiful--there is an Art Deco-inspired air ship that is astonishingly attractive--and there is an intriguing Indiana Jones-vibe that I think is owing to the game being set in the 1920s, Unknown 9 lacks many aspects of present-day AA games that we have come to expect.- Too linear, no side quests, maps are small, constricted, and you can only move forward (i.e., you cannot go back if you missed a collectible or ability point)- No gear (so, no gear upgrades), and collectibles (not ability points or health/energy upgrades) have no bearing on the advancement of the main character (I am all for collecting lore, but I love when a game makes use of found items beyond them simply being "collectibles")- Ability tree presents only a few useful additions and many more that could have been better formed- Enemy encounters become rehearsed and annoying to deal with; greater enemies and boss fights are tiresome and disallow half the character's abilities (what was the point then of receiving them?); some areas are forced combat when you would prefer to navigate with stealthThe game did keep me engaged for around 8 hours, and I think with, perhaps, a larger budget the game could have been very special; however, I do not think it has much replayability, and I believe that a $50 price tag is asking too much for what the game is.

Pretty bad game
The game isn't bad, but it isn't good either. The game mechanics are terrible, slow, and it has several bugs. I don't think they should have released it until they had better performance.
