Advanced Level Preparation for the CySA+ Exam
OK so here's the deal on this book. I purchased this book because I was looking for another set of practice questions for the CySA+ exam. I completed video training from Pluralsight and Udemy. Each course came with their own set of practice exams, and I had an uneasy feeling that their practice exam questions were not difficult enough. After purchasing this book, I started going through the 1000 questions and answers. I felt stupid. These questions were difficult, to say the least. I'm not complaining, however. These questions really taught me to read the questions CAREFULLY and select answers based upon reasoned logic. By the time I finished all 1000 questions and then went back through them for review, I felt completely confident to schedule my exam the next day. This book contained MANY questions on Linux, and, coming from a Microsoft background, I was unable to answer many of them, so I spent hours researching Linux commands online. Bottom lione: I scored a 788 on the exam and I don't think I could have passed without the extra practice I got from these advanced-level questions. PS: I did not get a single Linux-related security question on my exam :). I highly recommend this book to aid in your preparation for what turned out to be a very challenging exam.

Very useful and tough questions
I used this book along with the study guide from this author, and the linkedin videos he is in. I have to say that having also used another vendor for the reading material, this practice exam book was tough but in a good way! it presented scenarios, questions, wording, and trickery that I have found consistent with the way CompTIA writes their questions. I am not a fan of the CompTIA exams because I think they are very tricky and not beginner friendly, but this book helped me to get ready for it. I took the exam and was successful, I wish I had bought his books for my 3 previous certifications to get a grasp of the concepts and test-like questions.

Good for Preparation for CySA+ (CSA) exam
I read through this book in a week, took exam 26 July 2019. (Congratulations on achieving your CompTIA certification!)CompTIA CySA+ ce Certification Issuer: CompTIAI used this book as a reference and although I cannot say I scored as high as i would have liked, this book provided enough information coupled with knowledge already learned to easily pass the exam. I actually had enough time during the exam to actually review every question again and still have a little over an hour left when I clicked submit on the exam. I have since been asked by several of my co-workers who want to take the exam in the next few weeks what i used to study and I recommended this book.

Some good log questions, but these questions are often too hard, not material on exam
Passed with an 806. I don't really recommend this book. It's not very much like the exam. The log questions in this are really OK for the most part and enabled me to realize I needed *lots* more studying after I'd finished study materials, including some hands on with Nessus logs. The CySA+ is not like A+, Net+, Sec+ where you can just memorize a bunch of stuff. It's more like the CCNA or something where you actually need to understand how to use and apply this stuff. But even those logs have some topics that are just not on the objectives. I felt like maybe this was a watered down CASP book or borrowed from some other testing materials. Some of this stuff is way off base. The book has some errors in the answers, too.I can't really recommend this book.IMO, get the Jason Dion udemy course (I also watched the TotalSeminars Chapman one off udemy), the Sybex book (same authors IIRC). And if you want practice tests get the add'l Dion practice tests. His material was the closest to the test.

Great resource for the exam and additional knowledge
I found this book to be very helpful in passing the exam (I used another book for reading). No book is perfect but I gave it a 5 because it goes above and beyond the exam. The questions provide references to tools and processes not covered on the exam but help for the real world. I believe the book should be titled with "CySA+ Exam Practice Questions and Beyond" to give the potential purchaser a better idea of what they are buying. I didn't give it a 4 because no book is perfect and I'm not going to ding it on little typos.

Always buy the practice test book
Bought this to study for the CySA+-002 beta exam and its thorough. I always trust Mike Chaple with my CompTIA studying. He hasn’t failed me yet.Well written, book has many questions that seem like they’re mis-written but then after some thought you see what they’re going for and it’s these questions that get you into the mentality for CompTIA test and the TRUE VALUE of this book.

These are hard tests
These are hard tests because I found some answers are not in the accompanying book or a very very popular sec plus book. Now this may simply be an indicator of how tough the test is and unfortunately COMPTIA don’t create their own book with the required knowledge, they provide a loosely defined set of objectives which of course can cover a wide range of information per objective. How deep do you go, COMPTIA don’t strictly define that. In saying that that last statement would not be easy because this test is about experience as well as knowledge. However after looking at some of these questions I thought oh no, I have A LOT more studying and practical to do to be able to pass this whereas I had easily passed CYSA practice tests from other vendors. So I think this is good if this is an indicator of the type of questions and toughness of some of them in the real test. Good luck.

Good review
I passed my test on the first try. I didn’t go through this entire book. I focused mainly on questions with output, logs, reports, etc. since I felt that’s where I needed the most practice. I would recommend as a great review for anyone wanting to test their knowledge before the real exam.
