Definitely worth it for US appliances in Europe!
Choices for step down converters are very limited! You can get this nice, stylish looking one for more money, or you can get a black ugly one for less money and more features too. I chose elegance, because it's for kitchen! Was moving to Europe and didn't want to leave behind many of our great small kitchen appliances. I didn't know how this thing would work and couldn't test it due to European plug, until I moved to Europe, so I took a leap of faith and purchased it! There are step up and down converters in one on here, however I wanted something that would look stylish, do the job and I need only step down not other way around so I purchased this! As soon as we came to our apartment in Europe, we wanted some tea so I plugged in our tea kettle/pot and turned it on. Viola! Watched electricity to rise up to 240V and usage by our tea pot to 850W. This was purchased for kitchen use for items like KitchenAid 6qt pro mixer, handheld mixer, Ninja Elite blender, InstantPot 8qt, 4L hot water tea pot and so on. It sits on the countertop in the corner by the window and looks like some small appliance. I haven't maxed it out on it's wattage yet, however used it with 1800W hair dryer and it was drawing around that much. I've read that you can use splitter for more outlets, but make sure it doesn't have surge protector in the splitter, as this thing has surge protection in it and when you plug in another surge protector they don't work well and will pop your breaker (tested!). Unfortunately don't have splitter without surge protector readily available so cannot test if it will work well or not. Will aquire 1 shortly and update my review then. Upon reading the description again, I decided to test the 100V outlet and run 2 appliances at once, and I'm happy I did! 2 appliances running at the same time from 2 outlets! If you need electricity down converter, this thing works beautifully! It's also stylish and modern. Warning! It's heavy!!! Don't be fooled by the looks of it, it's very heavy, yet compact and stylish.

Fantastic but I wish I had known . . .
I bought this for a trip to England and it worked fabulously! It is quiet, the unit stays cool, it's attractive, if that's important to you. There's only one downside - it is HEAVY! There was no way I could carry it around in a backpack. A male traveling companion offered to help me with my carry-on and even he commented on how heavy was. Also, it scares the TSA folks. I learned that my life was easier if I took it out of my suitcase and put it in a bin by itself to get through security. After being pulled aside the first couple of flights, I learned my lesson. Evidently they don't see many like this. Other than accommodating for the weight, it's a fantastic solution. It fired up my MacBook Pro, Iphone and Fitbit in no time, with no annoying noise, heat or damage risk.

Compact, Consistent, Reliable, aesthetically pleasing, Quiet & cool operation
There isn't anything negative that i can really say, but i'll try. Don't be deceived by it's compact dimension, this is HEAVY. The white exterior, isn't really suited for easy cleaning. The semi-matte surface will retain stains if you don't clean it often. So if you are to use it in the kitchen, try protect it from splatter. In all, its an amazing converter. i have full confidence in plugging multiple devices and it's dimensions and safety margin in wattage conversion means i can use it in my small kitchen with all my US/Japanese appliances with confidence. Recommended to all i know.

worked fine for me
A little expensive, but it does work well. Mine is inside a weather proof box outside for a 120V outlet on my patio. It can be set to self start after a power failure.

Supports 110V US version Audio Video Receivers in Europe
I purchased this converter in order to be able to use a Yamaha TSR-700 AVR purchased in the US in Europe. Most people know that sound systems are way more expensive in Europe than they are in the US. Almost all AVR manufacturers sell 110V US versions in the US and 220V EU versions in Europe. The power supplies of these AVRs do not support 110-230V universal power input - rare exceptions apply but they are not worth the price. Yamaha TSR-700 consumes about 700-800 Watts at peak power. This converter worked really well. In converts the 220V to 110V with ample power, very quiet in operation, has built-in surge protections, and has an elegant white design unlike some other ugly black box converters sold on Amazon. I was initially concerned about the power supply in the US being 110V 60Hz while in Europe it being 220-230V 50Hz. I knew the voltage conversion and wattage capacity (should be 2x your device's consumption) would work well. But I wasn't sure about the frequency causing an issue with the AVRs specifically. It turned out the Hz difference didn't cause any problems whatsoever. AVRs have internal circuitry that converts AC to DC so the output frequency of this converter replicating the supply frequency did not matter at all. AVR sound quality is excellent with no distortion whatsoever. I am very happy with the purchase. The only downside, which can be easily addressed with a simple power strip purchased in the US, is that it has only one 110V outlet.

Excellent product so far. I saw people saying not working because the display was showing zero on the right side. But this is the wattage and will change depending on the equipment you are using. I tried with a Yamaha receiver and it worked perfectly.

It seems solid construction with central électro-aimant according to pictures on advertising. The weight is 17.2 pound. Excellent, Very compact, perfect for travel if you bring some powerful devices or electric equipments. I tested with another step up converter and it works. I will use it in the near futur over-sea but I decided to buy it in advance because it had a big discount around 40% and a good warranty of 3 years. I like digital values of voltage and power showed in real-time on the device.

We took it to Europe ( from Canada), we used it to run a 1500w steam iron and it worked flawlessly without any problems. Please mind the weight, it's almost 15 lb. I always took it out at security and one time it was held by security because it was too heavy but was released after they saw the specifications and realized what it does. Excellent Equipment until now.

We use it to step down 220 to 110 on our sailboat. Works very surprisingly well. A bit on the heavy side, but I think this relates to a good quality item.

Little bit heavy but it seems robust and stable. I will see after a longtime use if it is a good purchase or not.
