Portable Watercolour Paint Box

This is a great solid palette but beware W&N pans fit very badly (too tight to push in properly) and Sennellier pans do not fit at all. It is also overpriced. I haven't used it yet (I only have pans) but will when I can afford a set of tubes...

I am pleased with this purchase which meets my expectations and is well made. I have not owned it long enough to give it a very good trial but it seems comfortable to use, sturdy and not too heavy. The deep triangular mixing pans are okay but difficult to clean in the corners - I have yet to put it in the dishwasher as recommended by the designer!I did find the holding position a bit awkward at first and would prefer a thumb ring on the base but this is something you get used to and the facility to rotate the holding position is a big advantage.

Definitely one of the best watercolour paintboxes I have ever used. The high impact plastic is almost impossible to damage and the construction, including the hinges, is very solid with stainless steel hinge pins. Mine has been through the dishwasher many times without harm and the ability to remove the centre section housing the paints is brilliant. The plastic does tend a stain a little, especially from some of the blues, but this is not really a problem. Ideal for everyday use or for travelling and holidays. A second palette of colours can be slotted in making it extremely versatile. Some way of holding a tissue or cloth for wiping a brush would be an advantage.

Absolutely the best paint box/palette ever! I have bought almost every palette/paint box on the market - this Cloverleaf is in a different league from the rest. Compact, brilliantly designed, deep wells for mixing, the only palette that comes close is the Craig Young, that costs over £200. I have just bought 2 of them, and may buy more paint trays. Cannot recommend this product enough, if I could award 10 stars, I would!
