I tried an active HDMI extension cable and it failed after a few weeks of use (the picture got all washed out and the colors were bleached).The ORIE 1x4 HDMI Extender is a great solution. It is simple to set up. There are a few dip switches that can configure the ORIE for interlaced or progressive. After the dip switches, I changed a few settings on my TV so the image fit my screen perfectly.I play videos and the picture is beautiful. My wife has a wonderful eye for color and she loves what she sees. The blacks are black and she does not see any digital noise.I'm picky about sound. I play 24bit 96khz audio files and they sound great. I'm so glad to hear my music playing beautifully (and not be listening to FM radio or streaming audio) when I'm away from my core sound system.I purchased a Chromecast Ultra at the same time as I purchased the OREI. The Chromecast Ultra is good for sending wireless from Android. The OREI is great with any HDMI wire output and plays video and sound better than Chromcast.

Slow customer support. Unit does not function as advertised. Attached to 3 TVs. Only the closest one (20' away) worked. Farthest unit was about 90' away. Difficult getting it to work over distance. I purchased another ethernet cable to troubleshoot, to no avail. This company makes an identical unit (same model number) that has 5V wall warts for the receivers. I contacted Orei and they said they said they would email me and send a replacement with the receiver AC adapters. The email never arrived. Another email to tech support. They wanted clarification, & I provided information regarding the problem. They since did offer a (roughly) 3/4 refund. I should have tested it inside the Amazon refund window. My fault. I have upgraded my rating to 4 stars.

Bought a four-way splitter only needed three. One TV came in 90% other two didn’t come up at all. Called customer support and all they told me to do was run another cat cable. told the lady that it was behind my wall. And she said there’s nothing more we can do. So return item.
