This slicer works really well and is a total time-saver in the kitchen! The blades are sharp and cut through veggies easily with consistent slices every time. DON'T hesitate, buy it!! Y'all. This thing is SHARP, very easily handled and makes slicing my veggies so so so much better & easier! I love cooking but I spend an insane amount of time on prep, with this mandolin my prep time is halved! Without naming names, I've had famous chef promoted mandolins& not a single one works as well as this baby! The ONLY downsides I've found are that the space between the plastic & the blade attachment isn't exactly easy to clean😅 & gunk builds up FAST😵‍💫. Also SHARP af! I got issues with the gripper thing (most of the ones that come with mandolins tbh) and I've found slicing a chunk of thumb off ain't no picnic (I've got the scars to prove it). Personally I recommend getting the knife resistant gloves cause they work REALLY well! 😁 Side note, it's NOT big so it could easily fit in a drawer with other cooking stuffs or you can easily hang it on a hook using the handle! Super handy!!

Soooo useful! i have thought about buying this for years. i was afraid of the horror stories of cutting myself (clumsy) but it is not that difficult or scary to use! im not a fan of the grabber it comes with i usually use a fork on whatever vegetable im cutting!

The bed is made in two parts. The downside bed holds the blade and is stationary. the upside or feed bed is raised/lowered by a flimsy plastic support under the feed bed and slides to and fro by manually moving the lever. The lever is small, flimsy and not smooth to move. the feed bed is also flimsy. The flimsiness of everything makes it difficult to clean. I don't put blades in the dishwasher as the chemicals in the detergent will quickly dull any blade, so this thing has to be cleaned manually. That said it works great for slicing a cucumber on the thinnest setting. Whole pickles slice very well on the medium slicing. I tried slicing a tomato on the third setting and it came out thicker on one side and thinner on the other side. And the tomato wasn't very large and still didn't fit withing the width of the slicing bed. Maybe small tomatoes like the Roma would work better. But the thick setting is thinner than what I like for tomatoes. I didn't try an onion, but the onions I buy would be too wide for the bed and would have to be halved first. The $12 price makes it worth it for slicing items like pickles and cucumbers. However, I suspect it is only a matter of time before this device breaks or I cut myself cleaning it.
